Two new PS3 models have popped up at the FCC. And there seems to be only one difference between the two and that is the hard drive type. There is speculation that larger hard drives may be gracing new PS3's by default.

The FCC has a couple more PS3 models up their sleeves, and we're talking about the CECH-2101A and CECH-2101B. It seems that there is only one difference between the two devices, and we're talking about the hard drive type. Perhaps Sony has stumbled upon a new manufacturer for a handful of its wireless components, hence having to send the PS3 through the FCC's clutches yet again. Well, we won't really know perhaps until later as more details are revealed, but could this mean larger hard drives for everyone?

Gaming analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that Microsoft's Project Natal technology will outsell the PS3's upcoming motion sensing tech by a massive 5:1. He noted that the latter will suffer as it is not an 'in the box' solution.

Here is what he had to say as quoted by PS3center.net:

"I think that the Sony motion controller will have some problems gaining traction, since it is not an “in the box†solution," Pachter told us in an exclusive interview. "That will probably limit adoption to one or two million at the outset.â€

“A year or so after launch, there will be 10 million [Project Natal units] out there, which will probably attract more third party support."

Stephen Toulouse of Xbox LIVE has responded to the previous video which allegedly shown an Xbox LIVE admin abusing his powers. Toulouse commented that the video itself has been heavily admitted and removed threats made to the Xbox LIVE admin. Do we believe him?

Toulouse begins by stating “Yes I’ve seen the heavily edited video of The Pro. He was policing 10th prestige MW2 modding which results in gold account and console ban.†He then re-confirms what many were expecting – that the video has been heavily edited to omit the threats aimed to provoke The Pro, “I did enjoy the the explanation about the audio being totally off/1 sided cause his “capture card went crazy†when its clear it was edited.â€

For some time now Valve has refused to develop PS3 games. But recent comments seem to suggest that this will all change and they will actually start developing for the system.

Here is what was re-quoted by Dtoid:

"Before we do anything on the PS3 we need to be able to support it in the right way," explains the Left 4 Dead writer. "But we’ll look at it, and I’m sure down the road we’ll do it."

According to reports, Sony Ericsson has once again hinted at a possible PSP phone. He noted that previously there has been no tie between them and the PSP platform but we can hear much more about in the future.

As quoted by Electronista, here is what was said:

"We missed the window for high-end and touchscreen devices big time," Nordberg admitted. "Part of the recovery will be much better design and closer work with our partner Sony... In the past there was no tie-up between us, the PSP platform and Sony, but you can expect to hear much more about that."

"It is not surprising to find more than one game consoles in a household, especially when competing game console manufacturers attempt to attract unconventional consumer groups in the gaming industry. As understood herein, it would be useful to have a universal controller that would be able to work with a variety of game consoles."

An apparently reputable source has revealed that the new PS3 firmware update will not support OtherOS. Would be a big shame if they dropped support for sure.

Here is what was said according to MCV:

"There is not one person at Naughty Dog whose only job is to mange other people. We have very little hierarchy."

A little study has concluded that Final Fantasy XIII on the Xbox 360 is nowhere near HD. Infact its resolution is a mere 576p. Sony will feel pretty smug with themselves right about now that's for sure.

While a top notch side-by-side comparison of the PS3 and 360 versions of Final Fantasy XIII has yet to be published by any of the major gaming sites, we have the strongest indication (through analysis), that the PS3 version remains the superior of the two.

A user known as MazingerDUDE, who performs tasks for well respected analysis website Digital Foundry, has revealed that through a study of recent Xbox 360 and PS3 screenshots, that the 360 version actually runs at 576p, which is not HD resolution.

Furthermore, he has also provided a hi-res screenshot of the same image, for both versions of the game – just look at the differences for yourself.

If you still didn’t know what version you wanted to pick up in March, you might do after hearing about...
