Major Nelson has warned that next week's 360 update will see the BLOCKING of 'unauthorized' Xbox 360 storage devices. By this we think he means unofficial hard-drives and also Datel's memory unit but time will tell.

Here's exactly what the Major said at his online blog:

"When Preview Program members start receiving the Xbox 360 system update next week, one of the changes is that unauthorized Memory Units will no longer work with the Xbox 360. If you’ve moved your profile or saved games onto one to “back it up,†you’d better move it back onto an authorized Xbox 360 storage device prior to taking the update. If you continue to use an unauthorized Memory Unit after the update, you will not be able to access your stored profile or saved games.

If you need help identifying officially licensed Xbox 360 storage devices or accessories you can read more about the licensed accessories program on Xbox.com"

According to new estimates, Uncharted 2 is set to become the third fastest selling PS3 title on the America. The title is set to only 'lag' behind the likes of MGS and GTA IV which makes for some pretty impressive first week sales totals.

<blockquote>As reported on Monday, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves preorders had reached nearly 300,000 units in the Americas prior to release suggesting a very strong launch week of maybe upto half a million units. Well we can now reveal that preliminary VGChartz data shows day one sales of over 300,000 units which should rise to 450,000 - 500,000 units by the end of the week, making Uncharted 2 the 3rd fastest-selling PS3 title to date in America behind Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4.</blockquote>

The department of Homeland Security has confirmed that it is testing the Wii balance bard as port of possible plans for airport security. More specifically for future attribute screening technology. But it is just one of many technologies that they are trying out.

<blockquote>Speaking to IncGamers, a senior advisor to the Department of Homeland Security from the White House has said that although tests are being undertaken, no airport in the US currently using the balance board.

"We are testing the balance board as part of a suite of technology being utilised for FAST (Future Attribute Screening Technology)," said Amy Kudwa.

"This is just one of the things we're trailing and is just a prototype at the moment out of a range of ideas we have," Kudwa went on to say.</blockquote>

Nintendo boss Mr Miyamoto has given the biggest indication yet that the Wii may well go fully HD in the future. He noted that it's for consumers to want pretty graphics and Nintendo is moving along with the progression of technology.

<blockquote>"I don't think there's anything wrong with pretty graphics, and if I'm a consumer that has an HDTV, I'd want to be able to play my games with nice graphics too. And I think as we've seen the penetration rates for HDTV increase, we're going to see video games and Nintendo's games move along in step with the progression of technology," said Miyamoto.</blockquote>

Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has launched more 'fighting words' on the PS3 by stating that MS's platform will go as far as to outsell the PS3 for the 'entire generation'. He noted MS will achieve this through a plan to constantly deliver for the whole life-cycle of the console.

<blockquote>"What I can tell you is we remain confident that Xbox 360 will not only outsell PS3 for the full calendar year, but for this entire generation," Greenberg declared, saying that the real "win" will be determined by "consistently delivering" throughout the console's lifespan.

Legendary game creator Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that he is totally open to introducing the concept of user generated content to a Super Mario title. He also revealed that plans are already in place to create an element in Mario similar to that of Little Big Planet!

<blockquote>Shigeru Miyamoto is “definitely open†to the concept of user-generated content in a Super Mario title.

Speaking to Joystiq, he revealed Nintendo has already discussed the notion of allowing players to create element of a future platformer, in a similar style to Sony’s LittleBigPlanet.

“This is an area that I have a lot of interest in, and I think that the side-scrolling Mario games in particular are well suited to that idea,†said Miyamoto.

“Of course, the Mario Vs Donkey series is one that’s made in North America by NST, but it’s one that I’ve been involved in and from early on. We did have a lot of discussions about how to enable that kind of level creation in that...

Microsoft has revealed that it is not really all that concerned about the surge that is happening with the PS3 due to the arrival of the Slim and the price cut. MS sees the increases in sales for the PS3 as nothing more than temporarily and certainly offers little to worry about for the long-term future.

<blockquote>It is not a real concern to us – in fact, I can tell you to that when NPD releases September sales later today, we fully expect PlayStation 3 will come in as the console with the most units sold for the month. This is frankly not a real surprise to us or the analysts that follow this industry, as it is typical to see a short term bump following the introduction of new hardware and pricing into the marketplace. What I can tell you is we remain confident that Xbox 360 will not only outsell PS3 for the full calendar year, but for this entire generation. It is similar to a game of baseball, it is not about just winning one inning, but instead being able to win the...

A developer at Treyarch has taken something of a cheap shot at The Conduit (without explicitly stating the game). He implied that the control of the game was very 'jittery' and there was no way to get rid of it unlike in CoD 4 on the Wii!

<blockquote>While Wii gamers love the controls in The Conduit, the dev has a point as the controls did jump around once the sensitivity was placed higher. Much like pc’s though this side effect of jittering will not affect Call of Duty: MW Reflex as the developer has stated they are implementing “pc like†controls for the game.

“CoD4Wii has a new ‘Precision aiming mode’ - this is actually my favorite new feature of the game. It's basically an emulation of how PC aiming works, and you're going to notice a huge improvement in how precise your aim is.</blockquote>

According to reports, MS recently introduced a new 'Wave 4' protection on a game called Car-o-Rama. However, pirates have already struck back with a temporary fix which requires a 3MB download.

<blockquote>Last Friday Disney Pixar released a new game, Car O Rama, which boasted a new Wave 4 protection. Microsoft’s earlier attempts at protecting the Xbox 360 against piracy have all failed miserably, and it seems this one is no exception. Pirates have already created a temporary fix for the iXtreme 1.6 hack firmware, which involves you downloading a 3MB “activate.iso†file and burning it to a DVD9 disc.

This disc can then be used to load games with Wave 4 protection, which currently only include Car O Rama, but will most likely include otehr games in the future. The official NFO file for the loader states</blockquote>

The creator of an Xbox controller message application has already netted himself a cool $60,000 and counting. Previously a porn star reviewed it on G4 and the product seems to be performing well for something that took just a few hours to make.

<blockquote>College senior Justin Le Clair may be the most commercially successful Xbox 360 developer of 2009. For four hours of work he's pocketed $60,000 and counting. His creation? An Xbox massage program, the first in a controversial trend.

"I threw it together in class," Le Clair told Kotaku during a phone interview this week. His creation, Rumble Massage, is no game. It's a program that makes an Xbox controller vibrate on command. It was launched in January through the Xbox Live Indie Games program, which enables amateur developers to sell peer-reviewed projects online through the Xbox 360.

Rumble Massage currently sells for $1. Earlier this year, a porn star reviewed it on the G4 network, an awkward detail Le Clair has...

UK tabloid The Sun is reporting that some weeks after the release of FIFA 10 on the PS3 the cracks in the game are beginning to appear. One of those 'cracks' mentioned is that it is near impossible to find a head to head online game but 10v10 works fine.

<blockquote>TWO weeks after release of FIFA and some cracks are appearing in the game.

Personally, I can't get a game online with friends on the PS3 for love nor money.

In fact, the only way you can play with friends is as a 10v10 game. Not good enough EA!

No problems with the Xbox 360 version.

Other bloggers have listed a raft of problems with the single player campaign including an inability to sign players in the manager mode.

If you're experiencing other problems post your problems below using MY Sun.
