The Official Playstation Magazine has interviewed Tai Chiem, someone who has sketched out some pretty groove PS4 concept images. And he believes that the PS4 may well incorporate flexible touch-screen technology. Sounds like a dream rather than a reality?

<blockquote>
Well we don’t have nothing concrete yet, but speaking to PlayStation: The Official Magazine, Sony fan and freelance designer Tai Chiem, who’s drawn some awesome looking prototypes of what PS4 could look like, including some of the specs, divulged his reasons for doing so.

“[I wanted] to challenge myself to design something based on a current company while keeping their design language,†he told the mag, “but also taking it further.â€

“I wanted it to look like something Sony would design.â€

His prototype design is far reaching and extremely technical, so can these lofty visions be realized? Chiem thinks it’s not even a question of if, but rather when.

Microsoft has revealed that Xbox LIVE will be integrated with its new Smartphone OS called Windows 7. Good news for those who like to play online.

<blockquote>Xbox Live will be a fully integrated part of the next generation of Microsoft’s smartphone Windows OS, the platform holder has today revealed.

Though its current mobile OS, Windows Mobile 6, is hugely popular in terms of raw unit sales, Microsoft has been coming under heavy criticism both for its implementation of Windows Mobile and its apparent unwillingness to properly update the platform.</blockquote>

A new image floating around shows that 3D Video output is featured in PS3 debug firware v3.2. Looks like this is going to be a definite happening with some supported games.

<center><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/ps3dvidzzz.jpg"></center></a>

<blockquote>We'd already heard that the PS3 wouldn't need anything more than a simple firmware update to make the jump to 3D, and it looks like we now have the first evidence of that very firmware update. It's obviously not ready for public consumption just yet, but a debug build of the 3.20 firmware is apparently now making the rounds among developers, and it quite clearly includes a "3D Video Output" option in the settings</blockquote>

Square Enix has confirmed that it was throwing about 'altered' screens of Final Fantasy XIII on the PS3 and 360. Amazingly, one of the shots was exactly identicaly but had the LB 360 button photoshopped on top of the L1 button for PS3.

Here's the latest:

<blockquote>Update: Square Enix has released this official statement on the matter:

Unfortunately we did mistakenly include screenshots taken for pre-production (non-promotional use only) in our latest release of assets. Screenshots from the final game intended for the press kit will be released shortly. As shown in our recent demo tour and Microsoft's X10 event, there is no material difference between the two consoles.

Microsoft kicked off the FFXIII ads in big style with an ad covering an NBA all star celeb game. And now it's Sony turn. But they've gone with a more conservative approach in putting the respective title on the official Playstation website. Looks like MS is gonna go all out on this title.

<blockquote>On the official PlayStation website, Sony is now front-lining Final Fantasy XIII on the site. It may not be reaching as wide of an audience as a TV commercial, but Sony is doing their own thing with Final Fantasy XIII. Since the series has been associated with Sony for over a decade now, their console audience is well aware the game is releasing in several weeks, while the Xbox 360's main audience is likely unaware of it and needs the stronger marketing push that Microsoft is currently running on TV. Aside from running this minor ad campaign on the website, Sony also put up the Leona Lewis video on PSN Friday night. Previously, Sony did have trailers running in PlayStation Home,...

The creator of Gran Turismo 5 has dealt some serious words to rival video games. He noted that its difficult to play other racers for longer than 5 minutes due to their 'poor quality'.

<blockquote>Yamauchi was asked whether he may implement features from different games in future Gran Turismo games, he replied;

"Actually I find it difficult to play the other games in more than five minutes at a time. The game's low level of quality really shines through in the other games and I can not hold them out!"</blockquote>

An alert Xbox gamer may have thwarted a potential school shooting. After hearing a fellow gamer discussing how he was planning to shoot some people (with specific names), the gamer become alert and reported this to the police who managed to track down the potential criminal.

<blockquote>But then the discussion suddenly became more ominous.

"One of the males was talking in detail about his plans to shoot some people in his school the next day, and even identified the persons,†Omilusik said. “The local man asked him, 'do you know what you're doing?' and they abruptly terminated the audio."

The man immediately contacted Port Alberni RCMP and told them what he heard, and a cyber manhunt was set into motion.

Police contacted Microsoft’s security division, who was able to trace the suspect’s Internet protocol (IP)- a numeric code that uniquely identifies a particular computer on the Internet.</blockquote>

The PS3 didn't sell quite as well as Sony would have expected in January. But they have offered a reason - tight supply of the console prohibited larger sales hence why the 360 performed much better.

<blockquote>Interest is so high that apparently Sony is having trouble keeping the PS3 stoked at retail. In a recent statement, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton mentioned that the PS3's recent success comes despite the fact that they are experiencing 'tight inventory'.

This could explain the PS3's low sell through rate in January 2010. Sony's console charted at the bottom of the totem pole, selling 276K, as opposed to the Microsoft's XBox 360 at 332K and Nintendo's Wii at 465K. Despite putting up low numbers, the PS3 was the only hardware platform to see double digit increases year-over-year, selling 36% more units over January 2009.</blockquote>
