According to 'Business Insider', Microsoft doesn't generate much if ANY operating profit from Xbox LIVE.

<blockquote>
According to Business Insider's Chart of the Day feature, Microsoft doesn't get much, if any, operating profit from Xbox 360 or Xbox Live.

The company's entertainment and devices division only just started making money again while the online services division remained a sinkhole. Most of the company's money still comes from Microsoft Word and Windows products. Incidentally, Windows 7 just surpassed Vista on Steam as PC gamers' operating system of choice (XP is still in the lead). </blockquote>

Scans of the OPM God of War III have been 'leaked' online. The game itself scored a 9/10 and it certainly doesn't disappoint. What made it fall just short of a 10/10 was the familiarity of the gameplay.

The New England Journal of Medicine has a very comprehensive look at the injury sustained to the foot of a girl due to Wii Fit. So if you're interested in reading the scientific break-down of how Wii Fit can cause you injury, the look inside!

<blockquote>
In the United Kingdom, a healthy 14-year-old girl presented to the emergency department at Horton General Hospital in Banbury (near Oxford), having sustained an injury to her right foot with associated difficulty in mobilization. She had been playing on her Wii Fit balance board and had fallen off, sustaining an inversion injury. (The Wii Fit replaces handheld controls with a pressure-sensitive board about 2 in. off the ground that lets the user participate in tricky games that can improve balance.)

On examination, there was soft-tissue swelling around the base of the fifth metatarsal, which was maximally tender to palpation. A radiograph showed a small fracture of the base of the fifth metatarsal (Figure 1). The patient...

Nintendo has revealed that as soon as it found out that the New Super Mario Bros. game was uploaded online, it hired a forensic to find the root of the upload. They claim that the illegal upload cost them big time and hurt the industry globally.

<blockquote>
"It wasn't just an Australian issue, it was a global issue. There was thousands and thousands of downloads, at a major cost to us and the industry really," Nintendo Australia managing director Rose Lappin said.

"Once it's on the Internet it's anyone's really."

Nintendo said when it discovered the game was online, it used computer forensics experts to identify the individual responsible.

"Nintendo will pursue those who attempt to jeopardise our industry by using all means available to it under the law," the company said in the statement.</blockquote>

Bungie has gone on record to reveal that they will not be making Halo in any form of 3D. They noted that Reach is probably the final conclusion to the Halo episode and people are looking forward to trying Bungie's next big thing.

<blockquote>When asked if the concept of revisiting the franchise with 3D or other technology, Jarrad replied:

"Not from us. I don't think that would be something our team would find interesting - to go back and sort of [revisit Halo]. There's a lot of feeling that Reach is sort of a final conclusion to our Halo saga and I think people will be excited to move forward and try our next big thing afer that."</blockquote>

SMH is reporting that the 'pirate' Nintendo has fined 1.5 million AUD is just a shy 24 year old gamer. But Nintendo is having none of it, they claim that the man uploaded the new Mario game to the internet in order to gain acceptance from release groups and not his friends.

<blockquote>A Queensland man who has to pay Nintendo $1.5 million in a piracy case is little more than a shy gamer who uploaded his copy of a new game on to the internet only to prove a point to friends, his father said.

But Nintendo maintains James Burt deliberately distributed the game illegally online in order to gain acceptance with a game hacking group.

Burt, 24, a part-time freight worker who still lives at home with his parents in Sinnamon Park, will be forced to pay Nintendo $1.5 million after an out-of-court settlement was struck to compensate the company for a claimed loss of sales revenue.

Burt uploaded a game file from the Nintendo Wii game New Super Mario Bros on to the internet on...
