Sony has apologized to those folks that were no table to download the bonus car with the new Gran Turismo PSP game as well as those who ended up with buggy data upon their system due to the download!

<blockquote>Copies of Gran Turismo purchased at major retailers include a product code for a retail-specific bonus car. But those who rushed to pick up their copy of Gran Turismo PSP early today, then rushed back home to immediately download the car, might have been disappointed with what they got.

In a statement posted today to the PlayStation.jp site, Sony states that players were not actually able to download the bonus car until 1:30. But far worse, some players who were able to make the downloaded ended up with buggy data on their system.</blockquote>

Microsoft's UK boss has admitted that in some wishes he wishes that the 360 could be as agile as Sony is with the PS3. His comments come in specific references to all the non-game services the PS3 provides such as VidZone and Playstation Home.

<blockquote>He also continued to press the point that hardware is no longer the pointer to the future of the Xbox, "...the evolution of consoles in the future is all going to be around software and services".

In terms of the competition from Sony's PS3, and the fact that Sony has been pushing non-game aspects such as Vidzone, movies on demand, and Home, Thompson says, "In some ways I wish we were that agile."</blockquote>

A new survey published by an independent website suggested that 1/3 of Xbox 360's have got the RRoD. However, MS has since responded back to such studies and noted that the number of failures will be kept private but noted MS honours its extended warranty policy.

<blockquote>Earlier today we posted our official study of the Red Ring of Death and the corresponding results, once live we asked Microsoft's own Aaron Greenberg for his "official" response to said study; the entire quote is viewable below:

Thanks for your note.

There have been a lot of external “studies†on the failure rates of all consoles, not just the Xbox, and the numbers have been all over the map. The only people that know the actual numbers work for Microsoft, and the numbers are not something Microsoft or any other company would typically disclose for competitive reasons. What I do know is that more than two years ago, Microsoft addressed this issue by extending the warranty to three years for...

It looks as if the new Wii firmware update isn't just killing consoles! It also seems to be killing some Wii systems themselves according to reports on the internet.

<blockquote>Although initial reports suggested that the latest Wii update automatically only removes traces of the homebrew channel, there seems to be a much larger issue: It’s breaking some consoles.

The main issue lies in the actual update process. A program that allows the Wii to boot properly – boot2 – has also been upgraded but it apparently has a high chance of causing write errors. Because of this, some people are experiencing a frozen download screen when trying to download menu 4.2. The Wii will not respond if it’s frozen, and when you take the plug out…Nothing will happen when you boot it back up. This incident doesn’t seem to be happening to every Wii owner, but it looks like this could be a pretty significant problem nonetheless.</blockquote>

Some super freaky adverts have emerged from the Chilean Playstation team. In the adverts, one shows a modern gamer giving a blood transfusion to a Nazi and the other also shows a fairly looking modern gamer giving a heart transplant to Joan of ARC.

According to reports, KOEI has indicated that the beautiful classic controller pro (image inside) will be coming to the West as its fact sheet for Samurai Warriors 3 mentions the controller TWICE!

<center><img src="http://www.maxconsole.net/content_img/wiiclass_copy2.jpg"></center></a>

<blockquote>The Wii Classic Controller PRO, seen at right, is a thing of beauty, and one which a number of Wii gamers have wanted to get their hands on, at that. However, things have not looked so good for a Western release so far, as it has gone largely without note by Nintendo of America.

But could that soon change? It seems that Koei is under that impression, as their fact sheet for Samurai Warriors 3 mentions the coveted controller not once, but twice.

Siliconera points out that the fact sheet states once that "Making its debut exclusively on Wii, Samurai Warriors 3 takes total advantage of Nintendo's new Classic Controller Pro." It then repeats the mention on the features list,...

Sony recently officially blogged about the availability of the PSP Go and in over 40 comments related to the post there was loads which attacked the high price. Some remarked that for $50 extra they can just get a PS3 Slim so Sony should definitely lower the price.

<blockquote>Fans of Sony Corp.'s Playstation this week began rejecting the launch price of the company's new PSP go handheld on the company's official Playstation Blog.

In a post called "It's GO Time: PSP go Available Oct. 1, registered members were vocal in their opposition to the handheld's launch price of $249.99.

In the more than 40 comments related to the post, most were against the handheld's price point.

"Soon as you guys make it $199 I will buy it. Right now its over priced," wrote one fan.

Another noted the $50 price difference between the handheld and the new Playstation 3 Slim.

"Hmmmm I can either get a PSP go for $249 or I can spend another $50 and just get a PS3 Slim, no contest, I'm...

A Playstation fan website is indicating that they have received a tip regarding the functionality of the PSP 4000. Apparently it will feature the PSP Go's 16GB memory and other stuff but also retain the UMD drive. Sounds fishy...

<blockquote>We received a tip today that Sony is working on a PSP-4000 that will feature the Bluetooth interface seen in PSP Go, as well as possibly featuring some of it's other features like 16GB's of internal memory, but it will likely retain the UMD drive as all of the other versions in the PSP-X000 series have. I wouldn't get your hopes up for that second analog stick yet though, as that is likely to be put off until PSP 2 releases. You will still be able to at least use your Dual Shock 3 or Sixaxis controllers with the new PSP-4000, assuming these rumors pan out.

It looks like Sony is taking a dual market approach with PSP. The PSP Go! to combat the iPhone and Zune, with their cheap downloadable games and internally stored games allowing for...

A video is up on Youtube of some young gamer clearly showing he has a 360 copy of FIFA 10 and ejecting it from his 360 and SNAPPING the disc. Whether the video is real is up for debate but the author claims he done it because he hates FIFA that much.

We think its fine, but an Xbox 360 fan website thinks Sony should start charging for PSN to bring it on 'par' with LIVE. What do you think about this? Should PSN be a charged service, Is Xbox Live that much better than PSN or should XBL even charge? Let us know!

<blockquote>I’ve struggled through using the Playstation Network and I admit that I think it would be better if they just charged a little to make it work somewhat better. The community that has evolved around Xbox Live is impressive to say the least and while John Gabriel’s Internet Dickwad Theory is always in clear and present view, it is comforting to know that the entire network is monitored and policed so that anyone who has the guts to be racist, sexist, homophobic or show off their cash and prizes via the Xbox Live camera will feel the full wrath of the Ban Hammer. Finally, the ability to play multiplayer and utilize the leaderboard abilities of numerous titles in a way that is painless in the most...

The producer of GT 5 has revealed that GT 6 will be released a lot quicker (time period wise) than Gran Turismo 5 will be because the respective game has been made from scratch (hence all the delays etc).

<blockquote>What are your plans for Gran Turismo 5?

GT5 is a title that was pretty much remade from scratch, but because we did that, the next version is actually going to be faster -- the time period it's going to be released. But I think when GT5 comes out, we're still going to have things that are left undone, and whether we complete that in GT6, or the next version for PSP, I'm not sure yet. I've been working very hard for the last 15 years, and I think that hard work is just going to continue.</blockquote>
