"If you created a universe where there are no apparent consequences, how far would you go?"

HBO's eagerly anticipated sci-fi/western Westworld debuts this weekend. Producer Jonathan Nolan is making the media rounds, talking about the intriguing-looking show's story and themes, some of which are related to ideas that also apply to video games.

As us video gamers start to move into a new era of Virtual Reality gaming, where we are going to be immersive into a new world more deeply and real-like then ever possible before with our TV sets, the world of TV is taking a clue from that different and wondering about the next step in virtual gaming, maybe even being able to walk into a whole world that looks life-like and real, that is just as virtual physically as it is like currently with our games being only pixels, but not so, actual objects we can touch and feel, that behave like real humans,...

#Gamergate and the things it created and caused are still going strong after over two years!

Video-game culture warriors inhabit a dark, authoritarian universe where if you dislike this game, you’re racist! The video-game culture wars seem to be flaring up a bit. Wednesday, Heat Street ran not one but two articles on a favorite bugaboo of “real” gamers everywhere: artsy, story-focused games which offer scant interactivity and demand little to no skill on the part of the player.

They’re more like films than games, goes the usual critique, and games are supposed to be games. Worse, these games often tackle themes like race, class, identity, and so forth, inevitably offering up some sort of progressive message — they’re political, which is just about the worst and most annoying thing a video game can be.

Even Microsoft knows that the days of gaming on their Xbox Console is numbered and its death is coming fast!

Throughout the history of gaming, the fortunes of PC and consoles has often fluctuated . In recent years PC has gone from strength to strength, to even further strength, and Microsoft agrees. Microsoft’s *deep breath* senior director of product management and planning, Albert Penello, has said we’re at “the point where PCs have eclipsed consoles”.

On a side-note, the picture for this news story is perfect, today is September 30th, the rise of the Black Moon, and some fear its the 'start of the end of the world', so perfect timing to publish a news story about the coming 'end of the consoles era'. :)

Microsoft might be busy working on their Xbox Scorpio console for next year's release, but in reality the world of PC Gaming is fast again becoming the 'master race', and consoles as we...

Suggests It May Not be Above $600

"I wouldn't get people worried that this thing is going to be unlike any console price you've ever seen.", but Xbox boss Phil Spencer said in a new interview with WinBeta that the console is a "premium product," so you can expect it will not be cheap.

Alot of info been released on the Xbox Scorpio by Microsoft, from its specs. to its release date to its games, but one thing that is still open to speculation is how much is the 'most powerful console ever' going to cost us gamers when we line up by millions next holiday season to buy one, but now main top dog at Xbox has at least lowered our pricing fears, that it will not be as bad as the PS3 $600 pricetag, that Sony joked about 'just get a second job' if you can't afford one when it was launch all those many years ago.

The age of the Mini's are in, Mini-NES, Mini-Atari, Mini-Sega and now the PS VR includes a Mini-PS4 add-on!

This holiday, Nintendo's selling a miniature version of its classic Nintendo Entertainment System. It is, frankly speaking, adorable. Well, not to fear if you into cutting-edge technology this Holiday season, because the PS VR, comes with its own adorable mini PS4.

Only two weeks away before the PlayStation VR hits the store shelves, and most stores are planning on having an midnight launch opening for those that pre-ordered or wish to try to luck to grab one before it all sells-out, and to hype up the big PS VR launch, Sony has released an unbox'ing video, and few dozen units have arrived at various media news sites for them to do hands-on reviews.

Ubisoft is expanding, as it tried to fight off the takeover attempts by Vivendi

Even if you're a regular gamer, you might not know about Ketchapp. The publisher is only a couple of years old, and the games it posts to the Play Store and App Store are uniformly small, simple titles. But what it lacks in ambition it makes up for in volume: by my count there are no less than 75 Ketchapp games on the Play Store, an impressive accomplishment in a short amount of time.

Ketchapp seems to have caught the eye of some industry heavy-hitters, because it's being acquired by Ubisoft, one of the biggest game publishers on the planet. Quoted below is the full PR from Ubisoft regarding the deal, of which no info on the 'money involved'

When it comes to New Technology, Human Nature has many ways to deal it, if things don't go the way you like it!

An enraged man filmed destroying iPhones and a Mac computer at an Apple store in France has been arrested. The unidentified man, who was wearing sunglasses and a white glove on his left hand, smashed the Apple gadgets using a heavy metal ball.

The world is crazy raging today it seems, as earlier we reported on customer smashing an Xbox One console after he lost 3-0 in the new FIFA '17 game, but around the same time, another person decided to smash up a bunch of iPhones on display at Apple Store, after not getting the refund he wanted from customer service.

Man destroys Xbox in shop because he went 3-0 down

EA Sports FIFA 17 was only released yesterday, but this guy's first game didn't go well - and the smashed Xbox One controller and stepped-on console in his local Game-On shop proves it.

People love to try out new games when they arrive at their local video games store, but this one gamer could not handle being so quickly beaten in the new FIFA '17 game on the Xbox One, by the store's owner, and in the end an destoried Xbox One was the prize the customer left behind for the owner to clean-up, before stomping out of the store upset and mad.

Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer has 30 games, including Japanese exclusives.

Hoping to turn golden oldies into silver, Nintendo Co. is to relaunch its hit Famicom gaming console, 33 years after the device first gripped the nation. The new version has a similar appearance but is significantly smaller than the original.

Earlier today, we reported on the official PR hype from big 'N' regarding their upcoming Nintendo Mini Classic for the American market, but that is so lame and unhip for us retro gamers, it is much better to import one of these official babies from Nintendo Japan as its an Mini Famicom complete with its own selection of 30 games and all the same features as the Americanized NES Mini, just not as cool to play on or to impress your friends over this holiday season....

JJ Abrams will meet with Valve next week.

Earlier this year, Star Wars director JJ Abrams confirmed that the Portal and Half-Life movies are still on the way, despite the fact that not much has been said about them.

The projects to turn Portal and Half-Life into movies from their video gaming success were first announced long time ago back in early part of 2013, but now it looks like they are moving forward as JJ Abrams (of Star Wars fame), has reiterated that's he back onboard with the two projects, and has also teased that the Portal movie may be announced very soon.

Just Dance is coming next year to NX.

Nintendo has clammed up about the Nintendo NX, but thankfully, the world has Yves Guillemot.

Big 'N' may be keeping its mouth shut about their upcoming NX console, but at least UbiSoft is talking about it, and again have mentioned how wonderful the new system is, and how it will change gaming forever as we now currently know it, and will cause Nintendo in the end to be the #1 household name again when it comes to talking about Video Gaming devices.

"We've never seen a console sell that many units."

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has revealed that Microsoft's original goal, at the time when Don Mattrick was running the Xbox division, was for the Xbox One brand to sell 200 million consoles.

Microsoft going into the next-gen console war, thought they could sell 200 million consoles, which of course most likely was based on the big success they had with their Xbox 360 over the PlayStation 3, and they never thought Sony would comeback full force with their PS4, but now thanks to an recent interview by Phil Spencer, we get rare insight in how Microsoft was planning on reaching this big goal, of outselling the world famous PlayStation 2 console by 50 million units, over the lifetime of sales of their new Xbox One design.

Customers are going mad for the Xbox One S, with its built-in 4K Blu-Ray Player, and Slimmer Size!

Xbox has stormed the UK console market following the launch of new Xbox One S models. The release of the firm's new slim 500GB and 1TB SKUs saw Xbox One sales rise 989 per cent week-on-week.

Things are no longer rosy for the PlayStation 4 in the land of UK, because since the release of the Xbox One S console over there, it has outsold the PS4 by 360%, forcing UK retailers to lower the price of the original PS4 (non-slim model) to only £149 in an effort to clear out stock.
