The new Dark Souls for PC is reportedly featuring voice enabled chat for multiplayer matches so this means that Namco Bandai has made their homework adding the fan-desired features.

According to VG24/7:

The inclusion of a microphone runs counter to From Software’s past approach to multiplayer in both Demon’s Souls and the console version of Dark Souls; both games failed to include voice support and the developer discouraged planned encounters with friends.

That said, Dark Souls’ use of covenants helped like-minded players find co-operative buddies, and improved matchmaking was promised for the PC version. It’s not clear how voice will be used – as in-game chat, or perhaps in matchmaking lobbies; we’ve asked Namco Bandai for clarification.

The game comes on will be released in August, and includes new content that will also be released as DLC for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
