  'Ringbow' gives accuracy to Touchscreen Gaming, hits Kickstarter

Directional pad-assisted touch gaming?

The idea behind 'Ringbow' is to strap a D-pad to a user's finger, netting them extra control for touch-based games.

Ringbow promises to "revolutionize the way we use our touch devices".

The project could be a reality as has just hit Kickstarter. Its goal is $100,000, and has already raised $25,292, with more than 28 days left.

What's exactly Ringbow, you say?

Ringbow is the first gaming accessory designed to enhance the experience of touch screen gaming. Since touch screens are controlled with fingers, a finger-worn tool, specifically a ring, is the natural choice for complementing them. Operating Ringbow in conjunction with using a touch device enables countless new features and a much more efficient user experience.

Operating the ring with your thumb while using your finger to touch a device provides powerful capabilities and layers of functionality that are simply not available in today’s technologies. Ringbow multiplies the functionality of your finger together with allowing amazing simultaneous actions.

Ringbow lets you free your fingers from your device, leaving your hands available to do whatever you feel like doing: eating a sandwich, drinking a beer, high-fiving your buddy or stroking a puppy. Whatever you'd choose to do with your hands!

Ringbow in a nutshell;

* the world's first touch-screen gaming accessory

* a comfortable ring that you wear on your finger whilst gaming

* adds layers of functionality to each touch

* acts as a mouse/joystick device to use for gaming

* builds a new platform for existing and new games

The Bluetooth-compatible device boasts an adjustable one-size-fits-all grip, a nine-way directional nub and a five hour battery life. A $45 contribution buys a standard black Ringbow and a game package, though more generous backers can score additional colors, exclusive hardware and dev kits.

I guess the device sounds interesting? What do you think?

Take a look at the concept videos below, and also be sure to go to the official Kickstarter project for more info.
