| 'Change of direction may be needed for next Smash Bros.' |
According to Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Wii U / 3DS probably won't feature more characters on the roster than were in Smash Bros Brawl.

In an interview with US Magazine Nintendo Power, Masahiro Sakurai said that he is thinking about a change of direction for the fourth game in the Super Smash Bros. series.
When he was asked about the difficulties in making a new Smash Bros. considering the amount of content included in previous games, Sakurai explained the following:
"It isn't a matter of 'if the next game has 50 characters, that'll be enough.' There is a certain charm to games that have huge casts of playable characters, but they tend to have issues with game balance and it becomes very difficult to fine-tune each character and have them all feel distinctive.
"In terms of quantity, we've probably already reached the limit of what's feasible. I think a change of direction may be what's needed." |
He also shown on his Twitter account something that his staff drew on a white board (he didn't confirm if all those characters will be in the next game):

So, which characters would you like to see in the next game and which ones -from previous games- you want removed?
