Recent findings have discovered that Sony could have started to work on the next-gen Playstation as soon as on 2010.
According to MCV:
The CV of SCEA’s former R&D director Attila Vass has suggested that work began on the “next generation PlayStation” in August 2010.
Videogamer.com dug up the LinkedIn profile of Vass, who was employed by Sony America until April of this year.
"In 1998 I started as the first engineer in the PlayStation US R&D," the profile explains.
"I worked on graphics (COLLADA, PSGL) and a lot of network related technologies (advertising, telemetry, PVRs) for the PlayStation2-x, PSP, Vita and Next Generation platforms. Platform security was occupying most of my time at the last years."
His work on Vita was listed separately, meaning that the term “next generation PlayStation” does not apply to the handheld. |
