If you didn't know, Final Fantasy 13-2 ended with a "to be continued" message.
Yes, there was DLC that continued the game story. But now, its the DLC itself -the Lightning episode in particular- that fuels the rumors about another possible sequel or at least more Final Fantasy XIII-2 content.
In a recent Famitsu interview with FF13-2 director Motomu Toriyama, he came with a clearer hint regarding this:
Asked if anything Final Fantasy XIII related would be announced at the upcoming 25th anniversary Final Fantasy event (an art gallery in Shibuya), he responded: “The ending of Lightning’s DLC episode remains mysterious, but I thought that the way it ended was hopeful. The day may soon be coming where the meaning of that will be revealed.”
According to our pals Alex Donaldson and Erren Van Duine, both of RPGSite, a Final Fantasy XIII-3 is being planned for release before Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Of course, take that as rumor until confirmed. |
Before Versus XIII?! Well yes, this is still a rumor, so we will know for sure in August.
In the same interview, Toriyama suggested that the Final Fantasy 10 HD remake is a long way off.
“With regard to HD conversions, I think there are many places to be verified, so please wait a little more.” |
So, if you are waiting for that HD remaster, seems that you'll have to be very patient.
