Lately, we are seeing "Jelly Beans" everywhere. A lot of devices are getting the anxiety update and even the source code has already been released. Now, Android 4.1.1 reaches Google Nexus 7, the new tablet that is not even available to general public yet.
According to Redmondpie:
The Nexus 7 tablet, meanwhile, has not been released officially since its announcement at the Google I/O keynote a couple of weeks ago, but the quad core-powered slate is expected to drop in the coming weeks. The few who have managed to get their hands on the device earlier than most will be among the first to see Jelly Bean 4.1.1 rolling out since the update, which first appeared on the AOSP servers just yesterday, is now available for the much-lauded 7-inch tablet.
The Android 4.1.1 update for the Nexus 7 arrives in the form of a 12.6MB download package, the over-the-air isn’t quite reaching shores just yet, so if you’re not getting the update, don’t be alarmed/surprised. Nevertheless, the minor update noticeably improves the general user-experience, improving the performance and responsiveness of the operating system in general. Jelly Bean, I have found, is a nice, smooth experience over Ice Cream Sandwich, and as well as the enhancements in the running of Android, version 4.1.1 also adds Google Wallet to the array of stock applications, so is well worth checking out. |
