It looks like the French Euromillions lottery site got hacked by a religious group called the "Moroccanghosts".
Its homepage was replaced by a passage from the Koran on Sunday morning, posted in both in Arabic and French, condemning gambling...
The Koranic verses call games of chance and alcohol "works of the devil" intended to turn people away from God.
The Francaise des Jeux (FDJ) company, which runs Euromillions in France, said its other games were not affected. |
The site was still unavailable on Sunday evening, although the religious message no longer appeared.
Apparently, the pages affected were in "the process of being put back up". The FDJ added that none of its games or data was compromised by the attack, however, its corporate pages also remain inaccessible...
The Euromillions lottery is played in nine European countries.
