It seems MS want Forza 3 to do so well that they have reported to trolling forums and bashing GT 5 wherever possible. A NeoGAF forum mod has traced back some very recent GT 5 bashing to that none other than a Microsoft employee who also plugged Forza at the same time.

I don't know what's more embarrassing PD taking 6 years to release a sequel or Turn 10 releasing Forza 3 one year after 2 as if it's a new Activision franchise, nope, what's more embarrassing is that this employee got his release dates wrong. Forza 2 released in 2007 so it's a 2 year gap between them so it's not that bad.

Anyway I don't know why people get so annoyed about the release of GT5 it's not like this is some extraordinary development time I can name many more this gen and many more games that have been delayed till 2010 games that I'm looking forward to. It seems more a case of wanting the game so badly that the wait is unbearable the game was only announced in 2006.

Forza 1 was release about the same time as GT4 in 2005,

Then polyphony released Tourist trophy in 2006 for PS2, while FORZA 2 was released in 2007

Being that forza is not out yet, and neither is GT5... that would be 2 for 2.

Actually, Polyphony released 2 games in just a 1 year period while turn 10 did not...

Anyways, I just don't get why he has his ps3 if he hates the thing so much. I mean he could sell it and buy a few more "great" 360 games. Anyways, as far as release dates and all that stuff, I rather have my games a few years apart. I don't buy sports games precisely because there's a new version every single year and the improvements are minimal. Frankly taking 5 yrs to make one game is fine by me, because it represents a valued game to purchase at full price and to be enjoyed for the next 5 yrs, not 1-3yrs.

That said, I'm somewhat suspicious of the mod that in a thread that long, had the need to check the email address of the posters, especially when the comment wasn't exactly offensive or overly prominent, seems a bit suspect to me. I am doubtfull anyone would look at that comment and think to themselves, I must investigate the is person to see if they are infact working for MS.

The smartest move Sony made with PS3 is opening their conmsole to 3rd party hardare developers specfic examples are:

X-Arcade Dual Arcade Stick (made here in America) No compatibility with 360 (P.S. Street Fighter 4 on PS3 is f-ing amazing with this arcade stick!)
-Allowing Logitech to design periphials for PS3

I still dont get why people hold different companies to different standards, TF2 level support is fantastic but isnt the norm. I dont see boycots of MW2 even though they have cranked out a new one every 2 years (every year if you count in Infinity Ward and Teyarch). We were treated to extraordinary support with TF2 but to expect that as the standard is quite unfair imho.
