GAME POSITION:
Press Left Trigger to move current game left
Press Right Trigger to move current game right
(The list will be saved when you start a game)
FASTBOOT:
Doesn't refresh gamelist on boot
If you delete/add a game hold B on boot to request a refresh
AUTOSTART:
Use START to load game and activate autostart
Hold START on boot to turn off autostart
Use A to load game (does not activate autostart)

AUTO-DLDI:
Should now know if homebrew is prepatched

DONOR CARDS:
Tap top left (SAVE PATCHING) to toggle donor cards

DUMP CARTRIDGE:
Tap top right (DUMP CARTRIDGE) to backup your original games
there is a timeout if you don't insert your game quick enough
On error there is a timeout, will return to frontend

If game doesn't start after dumping, power cycle the DS

Updated in 1.61B2 should backup more games
CONTROLS:
Use thumb slide at bottom to scroll through games on CF card
Use D-Pad to scroll through games
Tap banners to move one or two positions
Start game by touching the middle banner or pressing button A

DUC CONVERSION:
Provide .duc file named same as game name
This renames old .duc file to .OLD
BACKUP YOUR ORIGINAL SAVE FILE IF YOU WISH TO KEEP IT

If you can keep the comments on MaxConsole constructive it would be a help

CSI - Dark Motives
Mario Party

and they are not showing up in the list of games when I start my DS.
Please Help

Nevermind i fixed by removing the max overload save file and then running max overload 1.6 again!

turn on the ds and let the b button press and you will see the roms

On the old "Max overload 1.5 Working/Notworking game list" thread, someone mentioned Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver working for them.

They worked for me, too...for about 15 minutes or so, and then the game freezes up. Both ROMs, after about the same amount of time. No problems with any of the other ROMs I have on my card, so it's not the card.

Any ideas? The previous Pokemon games (Diamond, etc.) seemed to work fine. Is it because HeartGold and SoulSilver are Japanese ROMs?

How do I undo Anti Piracy Patches? Do I need to use DSLazy? I do have it. Uhh, how hard is it? I REALLY need to do this for a few games cause I don't want to register on Stevetry's board to only download some games.

As far as I know, you don't undo anti-piracy patches, you just download a clean rom. Are you asking something else?

Wait wait, so all I do is download a clean dump of for say, Kingdom Hearts DS and it'll work? I didn't exactly mean undo, but like, bypass it or something...

LOL, well that's what the anti-piracy patches do. You can try a search for the specific patch that you need, but I don't think there's any way to get around the patches using MMD. Using a different solution that allows entering codes would be fine though. R4 or M3 could work if you wanna spend the money. :)

So to recap: Unfortunately, you'll need to spend money, do an extensive search for the patch you need, or register for his site. I can't think of any other options, sorry. :(

Damn it. So if I take an actual cartridge from my friend, dump it on the FC via MO, run it, it won't work? I REALLY need this game, and some other games like Mario and Luigi BIS, and Pokemon Heart Gold/Soul Silver, and others. Oh and is Stevetry's site safe?

Correct. I've tried it with a few games that weren't working (such as one of the 4-in-1 games, and a couple others I can't think of right now) and they won't work without a patch/hex edit. Mario and Luigi BiS doesn't work period, regardless of what I've tried, either. Stevetry's site IS safe but, if that's not the reason you don't want to register with him (you've repeatedly said you simply don't want to register for more sites), then that won't matter. :rolleyes: :) Hope you figure something out man.

Also, do you have any experience with hex editing? It's not that difficult if you know what you're doing but you can REALLY screw things up if you don't.

How to edit KH DS:

Change to

Save and copy to MO

Doesn't refresh gamelist on boot
If you delete/add a game hold B on boot to request a refresh
AUTOSTART:
Use START to load game and activate autostart
Hold START on boot to turn off autostart
Use A to load game (does not activate autostart)

AUTO-DLDI:
Should now know if homebrew is prepatched

DONOR CARDS:
Tap top left (SAVE PATCHING) to toggle donor cards

DUMP CARTRIDGE:
Tap top right (DUMP CARTRIDGE) to backup your original games
there is a timeout if you don't insert your game quick enough
On error there is a timeout, will return to frontend

If game doesn't start after dumping, power cycle the DS

Updated in 1.61B2 should backup more games
CONTROLS:
Use thumb slide at bottom to scroll through games on CF card
Use D-Pad to scroll through games
Tap banners to move one or two positions
Start game by touching the middle banner or pressing button A

DUC CONVERSION:
Provide .duc file named same as game name
This renames old .duc file to .OLD

ALL games crash randomly, One of the MO issues. Other issues are no sleep mode and crashing when in sleep mode for an extended period, and no download play for any Mario game, and some others...

C.O.P. The Recruit works with patch, If anyone needs it I upped it. Just rename the rom [xms-cope.nds] and put in the same directory as the patch and then click the .bat file. It's as easy as that.

Okay, so I download Rockman EXE Operation Shooting Star, and I get this glitch that every step you take gives you a battle. Literary every step. The real thing works fine, but the ROM (when ran on a flashcart) has the battle glitch, but is supposibly works fine on Emulators, I haven't tested yet. Is there like an extra HEX string? What one should I remove?

Found a patch, but how do I use it?

Yep, the rom needs hex editing... here are the steps:

1. Download and extract the rom from RomU so you have the clean rom. (Keep the rar in case you messed up with something)

2. Google and download a hex editing program such as XVI32.

3. Run the program and click File > Open and search for the rom.

4. Then click Address > Goto on the toolbar, click the hexadecimal and put $465199 on the box and click OK. Then the box with 0C in it should be highlighted.

5. Click Edit > Overwrite String, click the Hex string and put 36 on the box, click OK.

6. Now for the second code, click Address > Goto on the toolbar, click the hexadecimal and put $4652F4 on the box and click OK. This time, the box with 10 in it should be highlighted.

7. Then click Edit > Overwrite String, click the Hex string and put 11 on the box, click OK.

8. Click File > Save and put the rom into your flashcart. Have fun :D

What SAVE format does MO use? Which category does it fit here:

It is the only reliable converter I know of. I will also be keeping my MMD for a long while. Mo is REALLY fast loader, practically not wait time at all, the only reason I upgraded is because the MMD is HUGE, and looks bad in my DSlite, and my only complaint for Mo is no sleep mode, and no download play for Mario games. I bought a Supercard because it will look sleek in my DS, works great, and has many features. Good job with Mo MODEV!L, keep it up.

You're trying to get the DS into sleep mode while in the Max Overload loading screen? Other than that sleep mode works just fine for me... what version of the MMD are you using? I've heard that the Max Media Player shipped with some of the older MMDs didn't have sleep mode. In that case it's your hardware's fault not MO's. :D

Finally, dang this thing is amazing. I also didn't have to convert my SAVs, MO SAVs work fine on Supercard. They also made a new OS for it, it is awesome, skinning too. Lot's of features, good support, you guys should upgrade.

Again, it's only an upgrade if it does something that I need and the MMD doesn't do it. In this case it's not an upgrade for me.

Here's a list of things that are better.

Nothing sticks out of your DS - Like Stevetry, it doesn't bother me.
Longer battery life - I actually have mine plugged in most of the time... I really don't have the option to play it on the road as I'm the only driver in the family.
Costs less - Than what? I ALREADY HAVE the MMD so it's not costing me anything at this point. :)
Cheats support - Never use them.
In game menu - What's that mean? What type of menu opens in game that the game doesn't provide that I'll need? EDIT: I use my computer for game guides when I need them.
Real time save/load - I'm not playing games on an emulator here so I'm not interested in emulator functions.
Skinable - Useless function for me, I use my DS for things other than games as well and I've yet to run across anything that requires me to skin my GUI.
Has a good GUI - I grew up with DOS... GUI is just a bonus, not a requirement. :) Plus I like the MO GUI, the DSO GUI is tolerable, and skinnable if you want to do it, and the MMD GUI is pretty nice to begin with. :)
Full download play support - I haven't had any problems with it so far... but anyone I play with has a flash card so they can download the games anyway.
Doesn't skip past the DS start up menu - That would piss me off.
Slow motion (good for some games) - I would never use it so it's not something that's better.
Slot-2 support (good for some games) - The only games that require slot-2 are GBA and Quake 2, I care not for GBA (I just emulate the ones I want to play) and I have Quake 2 for my PC if I want to play it.

No, not really, but I'm just not interested in an upgrade so I can offer a counter argument to anything you tell me. :)
Also, I'm not interested in a flame war or insulting anyone. Just remember that this is a board for the MMD and some of us are pretty fond of the device. :)

Clean, unpatched Pokemon SoulSilver (US) working fine with my AK2i w/AKAIO 1.6. Now well over an hour into the game with no freezes at all. According to chatter elsewhere, AK2i is the only thing not having problems, and even then only with the latest firmware (1.6).

Yay, Acekard. I'm still keeping my PMP, tho -- love Max Overload's simple interface far better (with AKAIO, I have to scroll down a huge list of ROMs to get to the one I want, MO remembers the last one I used, which is usually the one I want when I turn the thing on). Didn't really want to buy the AK2i in the first place, but since the PMP won't work on my son's DSi, it seemed like a good solution. Win!

Yeah, I'm thinking about buying the Acekard as well because my wife wants a DSi... I personally won't touch the things right now but I may end up "upgrading" to the DSi eventually as well. :(

Well, Pokemon SoulSilver and HeartGold are still not working for the (U) versions (you can play for a time but it freezes a lot and after beating the 4th gym leader you can't play at all anymore.)

There is, however, a patch/translation for the (J) version at http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=37226.0 that eliminates the freezing and has 90-95% of the text copied (literally) from the (U) rom and inserted into the (J) rom.

I'd have to say that the (J) version works with patching.

Here's the instruction on how to hex edit kingdom hearts its real simple

1: Google and download a program called XVI32. This is the hex editor I used.

2: Open your KH rom in XVI32.

3: At the top click address, then click goto, then click hexidecimal.

4: Type 010E5DC into the box and click ok.

5: The first block should be highlighted and have 0C in it.

6: At the top click edit, click overwrite string, click hex string, in the bottom box type 37 and click ok.

7: Where it said 0C in the first box it should now say 37.

8: Click file, then click save.

9: Put the file you just saved on your flash cart and enjoy

@Stevetry: I got my flashcart at dealextreme.com, but they removed any flashcart from their site a while ago. They have a sister site though with them still there, it's called PriceAngels. It's the same thing except things are like a dollar more that DX, but that's not saying much as DX is the cheapest place to buy things and flashcarts there are cheaper than other sites.

There is a working patched version of ShinMegaTen:SJ floating about the net, Im in Sector Carina and there have been no problems so far. Id post the link but I found it on my friends comp about a month ago while I was homeless.

I just randomly tried an R4 patch on Shin Megami Tensei - Strange Journey and it actually worked. I saved the game, DIDN'T get a "failed" message, restarted my DS and the save was loadable.

I've uploaded it (as in the patch, not the game) to my (now useless) saves archive here (http://mosaves.co.cc/mosaves/10190-SMT_patch.exe).
