So, I have a PSP 3000 right now, and I've been waiting for a full CWF to come out for it for a while now. It looks like it's not going to happen any time soon. My question is, should I wait until the TA-090v2 is hacked, or sell my 3000 and get a 1000? Does it look like the TA-090v2 will be hacked any time soon, or should I just get a 1000? And yes, I know the 2000 can do CFW too, but I like the sturdiness of the 1000, the 2000 and 3000 feel too flimsy and cheap. And I have ChickHEN and 5.03 M33-6 on my 3000 but it gets annoying not being able to modify the flash, and redo the whole process every time I restart the PSP. So, should I do it, or wait?

I prefer the slim model to 1000 but that's just me. I had 2 1000's, a black and white but have stuck with my 2000 since. My 2000 does everything my original models did so I'd go with one of those if you can find an early model. I sold my last 1000 during the launch of 2000 so I'm fortunate in having a fully hackable slim. I wouldn't get a 3000 because of the crap screen.

EDIT:

I doubt the 3000 models will ever be hackable like 1000, 2000.

i would honestly stay with what i had, since its manageable. however, it might be better to go with a psp-2000 that is fully hackable. i wouldnt suggest buying the old one, (32mb ram limitation will eventually become a problem)

I would wait for it. because it was the same when we started in 1000 with chicken. after a few months a hack was available. yes it's annoying to restart all the time but a hack could be avail anytime soon. remember we have to wait for along time for 1000 to get started.

No we didn't, Hello World came out almost immediately on 1.00 OFW.

Will the 1000's 32 MB RAM limitation really be an issue in the future? I honestly think the 1000 looks a lot better than the 2000/3000 and would prefer to get that. The 2000/3000 feels like it could break in my hand, and yes, I've owned all three.

I seriously doubt 3000 models will be hacked like 1/2000 any time soon if ever.

If you prefer 1000 and they're definitely easier to come by hacked than any other model, get one. Don't wait for a 3000 hack as you'll be waiting forever.

Well, I just ordered a PSP 1000 on eBay. Going to keep my 3000 as well for now, but might sell it later.

Hey guys, first post here and I really don't mean to hijack the thread, but I didn't think starting a new one was really worth it either.

I have the opportunity to acquire a brand new PSP 2000, but I was wondering if all PSP 2000 models are able to run CFW, or do some have the dreaded TA-088v3? I ask because right now I have a 3000, but I don't want a 1000 because I like the slim better; it hurts my hands less when using it compared to the 1000. Also, I can't check the motherboard version as the place I'm getting it from is online.

I doubt the 3000 models will ever be hackable like 1000, 2000.Well there are people who doubted the TA-082 would be hackable or run 1.5 or CFW...

Hmm, I might in the same conundrum later on. My PSP 2000 (which I love) is starting to look a bit manky, and I'm worried a part of it might break soon. Hopefully it won't, but if it does - IS there an easy way to determine an early Slim model (hackable) from a later Slim model (non-hackable)? I would like a new Slim if my one doesn't gold out - I have dainty lady hands : P

Otherwise, I don't mind if it's a white 1000. P3P would look AWESOME on a white 1000.

The only way I know for sure in determining motherboard visually is from the special edition packs they released way back. I know the Daxter silver and the Star Wars pack are hackable, but the new ones run for a lot of money. As for core 2000s, I have no idea, seems like a crapshoot unless you can look at it up close.

Add the Final Fantasy Crisis Core PSP 2000 to that pile, for anyone looking. My current PSP is this PSP.
