So I have been working on this for a bit tonight (I am really sick atm :()

However I did feel well enough to at least get out of bed for a few hours and wrap up Snes9X Euphoria for a release.
It is based off the last version of Snes9xTyl by rukka.

My main objective for this version was speed. A lot more can still be done to optimize the emulator and get more speed, but for now (given my health) this will have to do :)

The only game I have tested with my version is Kirby Super Star, which I know had terrible FPS with other Snes9X releases (usually < 30Fps)

With my build, using the following settings, Kirby Super Star runs @ a minimum of 44Fps and a max of 60fps with the usual fps being 50fps.

Settings :

Renderer : PSP Accelerated
FrameSkip : 3

This does not generate a jerky experience, it finally feels playable :)

Other testing :

Donkey Kong Country : Same settings as above :
Min FPS : 58
Max FPS : 60

The speedups should be global, every game should be a lot faster now

Future :

I plan on improving speed more, improving stability and applying the changes from Snes9X1.51 to Snes9X euphoria also (which is running off the 1.42 code base)

I hope you enjoy this release and if you have any bugs please post them in the : Snes9X Euphoria - Official Forum (http://www.retroemu.com/forum/index.php?/forum/10-snes9x-euphoria/)

There seems to be some graphical bugs in the menus in Kirby Super Star (and maybe other games), these will be fixed in later revisions.

Thanks and I hope you enjoy the release :)

Runs fine for me on a 1000 on 550GENB2.

It runs a couple games faster, but Donkey Kong Country still isn't anywhere near full speed without killing the background layers.

IM you need under 200 roms per folder to make it not crash.
Make sub dectories for EX. ROMS ROMS2 ROMS3 ROMS4
180 per folder to be safe. Works awesome for me 5.00 M33

that's fucking gay!

why does this one have a limit when the previous one didn't?

I don't think that's the problem.. I think it had something to do with the fact that whoever wrote this has their folders in a different setup than I do.. when I try to load my list in PSP/GAME/Super Nintendo/Roms. it wants it to be somewhere else.. problem is that it won't let me access the menu..

Beside the item limit in the folder (a very common problem on every platform lol) the emu is far for being "near" the flawless state achieved by the Cm version in his last release.

We will see how it will do in the future :)

what i suggested is the problem, it has been confirmed.

Also if it says verify memory stick blah blah blah just hit square or triangle then point it to which roms folder you wanna browse.

*EDIT* good news IM, Zack is aware of the bug and will fix it

Speedups are nice.
Thanks

I think I may have fixed that bug now. Along with the random freeze-ups/hangs when returning to the menu.

Only public testing can confirm that though. I will be releasing another version soon-ish

well, accoding to this, you need to set frameskip to 3, which makes the game very jumpy.

with donkey kong country, if i set frameskip to 2 using my current snes9x (i believe it was test r5 or something like that from last year) i get 60fps at frameskip 2.

in theory, that would be faster than this euphoria R1.

hope it can be 60fps with ZERO frame skip.

we 0 frameskip looks incredble, so that would be badass.

glad he fixed it.. but why is there an eboot.user.pbp in there? did he use the latest rukka test version or did he use ahmans version?

because only ahman used that user.eboot.pbp thing.

Ok so I'm still working away.

Here are some things that are fixed :

Menu speed : Is now a lot faster. Still a bit slow when music is playing.
Roms : I tested with having 800 roms in the ROMS folder and it now works.
Emulator not returning to menu sometimes : From my testing it now will always return to the menu upon pressing the home button.
Implemented VFPU math. Minor speedup.
+ a few other tidbits here and there.

I plan on releasing a new version soon.
