UK to get Wii before Europe and US

Nintendo has confirmed to trade publication MCV that the UK will receive the black Wii before the rest of Europe and the US. The Wii console will be on sale in the UK as of November 6th.

I dont get it. Why would anyone want a black Wii? You'll be constantly wiping the dust from it to keep it looking cool. White is definately easier to keep clean. The black version is for those who have a maid.

If the basic version was black and now there was a special white version coming, I would be all over the white version. I just hope they would release some actual colors like cobalt, amber or lime.

not match anything (well, except walls). My 60 inch Pioneer Plasma (Wall-mounted),
the Onkyo Receiver, JBL speakers, Mocha stained Hardwood floor, and PS3 (slim)
have to deal with the current white Wii. It really stands out bad. Heck, if folks
can go all giddy over a black 360, then we can go giddy over this new colour for
the wii.

Oh yeah, the white wii seems to get some discolouration over time.

I always try to avoid any black equipment, including hi-fi. I'm not that much of a perfectionist that I need everything in the same color. I just want to do as little cleaning as possible. That being said I think your claim of a discoloration is a true shocker!

What can I say... the stuff I buy is often black.

Anyhow, the discoloration is likely due to the heat generated by the wii but it
does seem to happen, at least for me.

Not that I give a rat's ass about the Wii but this confirms my suspicion that the UK is not part of Europe :D

I foresee Nintendo releasing at least 4-5 colors, to me the only one I ever thought about was chrome.
