I new this day may come for the psp scene.

The story will go like this:
First we get advertisement before we can play.

Next we are expected to pay for cfw.

Then pretenders will come and try to convince us that we should be happy to pay and should have been paying all along.

Last, noobs will nod in agreement, pay and re-enforce the above model as the norm.

I know who would put an end to all foolishness very easily. D_A.

It's their custom firmware. No one made you install it. they can do whatever they want to it. End of story.

/kd/pegasus.prx is responsible for this. I'm trying to hex edit and see how it goes

EDIT: Okay I blanked out the text but that's the best I could do. My PSP boots okay, should be relatively safe because of recovery mode. Could someone with affected ISOs give this a try? I don't have a unpatched game right now.

IMPORTANT: Always backup the file you are replacing.

Why would you want to hexedit this? that's very disrespectful.

see this is where the newbies come in to make waves, but since you don't understand i'll inform yah. It ain't their firmware, they have not made any firmware of their own. So do not attempt to profit off something you have stolen.

Actually, I respect them a whole lot for doing something that I, and many other people, cannot do.

However, I do not need a constant reminder of what firmware I'm running and who made it because I am the one who installed their firmware and I know damn well who made this and what their website is.

I can understand if they added their names (and what have you) in the recovery menu, in the vsh menu. But something like this is unacceptable to me because I consider this intrusive and "in-your-face"

I agree with this.

Then I assume DA should not profit as well, because he "stole" it from Sony? It wasn't his firmware, he didn't make any firmware of his own (he didn't create it from scratch, but reserved engineered it, meaning he needed a standard firmware). Why should his case be any different? Because he was the first? He did the exact same thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing anyone, it's just that I get the feeling that people seem to think that DA has the exclusive right to make a CFW. Since he didn't respect the copyright from Sony, why should anyone respect his?

D_A never try to profit. He never ask for donation either. It was the people around him that put up that crap website and nonsense donation thing up.

Go see if BOOSTER or HUMMA ever ask for a handout. Know before you talk crap.

You are correct about the donations, but I wasn't referring to that (hence I did not make a point about that ;) , there are more forms of profit than just money... ), but to the other points made. If GEN wants to make profit, they are free to do so. Please check my post again, Stonercold.

Okay guys, I tested this with Persona and it works okay, just a white screen with some delay but it matches really well with the gameboot so it's not really noticeable.

Would these isos be 5.55+? If so then this screen may just be while the patching/decryption (a pure guess). But if you dont like the advert just hexedit it out.

Having a splash screen like this seems a little childish of the developer(s)... It should be removed.

Btw, any of you know of a way to compress the prx using the m33 gz again? The size became way bigger when I uncompressed it.

It's very retro if you ask me. I'd like them to go further and add flashing multicoloured borders... maybe a nice chip tune..

Sorry, forgot to end with /sarcasm. I think it shows a lack of class on their part.

I think GEN people added the splash screen for the decryption wait time.
It's not gonna kill your PSP or anything...

Well why not simply add a screen saying "Please wait, Decryption in progress" rather than "Look at us, we made these codez! here look at our interwebz: http://www.look-at-our-website.com". GEN are better developers than to resort to the likes of silly little splash screens...

Anyway: Meh!

If I was yoshihiro, I would set this picture as splash screen.

Same time, text pop up as
"If you want to remove this splash screen, go post qj.net "Maxconsole rulez!".

Well...do you think that Yoshihiro cant ENCRYPT this disclaimer text if he wants? xD

He left it as plain text, so, you can hex edit it.
Of course, if you are a lamer and hexedit to show a new text...yes, YOU are a lamer! :D

What the he'll is wrong with u guys. It's just there to notify you that the decryption is taking place, and if GEN wants to show this off with a different splash screen they have every right to do so we have them to thank for this.

Why don't u ungratful bastids get a life. It's not like they asking for money on the splash screen or anything, they just showing off there skillz !

It's also nice to know when your loading an unpatched iso.

LMAO

I cant believe some of you are complaining about that stupid little splash screen. Who cares it shows up for like a second. Maybe less. Its not that big of a deal.

If you hate it, don't use their firmware.
