I am finaly going to do this,
I am asking a few questions
Can i use DVD-r's?
Can I use a mac to do the burrning of the games?
If i need a pc, Will windows 7 work, or is it going to be an epic fail? (It has sata)


I have the xbox arcade and it works so what,

Also Could I use my friends backups? like could we swap games?

Also would live stop working,
Also, (I know you hate me by know) would this work with this nxe the new new fall update, as well as is there like a dummys book for this, I suck at hacking and I am taking this one stap at a time

1. DVD+ DL only, you can get a pack of 10 verbatims (the recommended brand) of play.com for £10
2. Does you DVD drive support burning DVD+R DL? OS X if fine as long as the burner you use supports changing the layer break and the book type to DVD-ROM, if using windows 7 then use imgburn.

ok I am going to get them dvd dl's. also are there any tips on hacking the 360, I am going to get that 2 port sata thing so then i only have the open the 360 once, and then i am lost,,

you dont even know what the drive type is and already your planning on getting sata port thingys.

1 bit of advice,steer well away from anything that adds onto the 360 cos its a waste of money.

If you're going to flash on windows 7, it better not be the x64 version, there's no PortIO for 64 bit systems. Make sure the sata controller is compatible (except for hitachi, most work).

ok the computer is running windows 7 beta, 32 Bit, I am not shure the make of the sata device in the computer, I am looking at that small hack to have the sata plugs on the outside of the 360, (sata bracket) I think they call it, that mod, so then I do not have to take the dam thing apart every time i back games up,

also I am geting dvd-dl's soon so I can try backing up after my hack, I do have a dvd dl disk drive in my mac's and the pc, also when i back up games would the disks just be like an iso? or a disk format? as that makes life easy and i could use toast or nero, or somthing right, would that work?

if in doubt pick up a cheap via 6421 card from ebay. As above dont waste your time buying add ons for the 360. Its not often you have to flash. If you flashed with 1.51 you wouldnt have to worry about wave updates.
Mind you that does not mean you shouldnt check all your images with abgx.

Win 7 is fine, as with anything follow the excellent JF tutorial. Ive done quite a few but I always have a quick look.

I ordered some disks dvd + dl 's

also its a samsung disk drive,

from here i am lost, the guide i am using is no help at all!!!!

could you guys point me to a better one, the mother board in the pc is a mis (msi) somthing like that, and when i put the 360 on the board (the sata plug thing) the computer said it was somthing like a pci card, ???

Dear lord BigJake, you're a bit off. CPU-Z is a software that gathers info on your hardware.

With your motherboard version we could also find out which sata chipset you got.

oh sorry, I am just stupid when it comes to the windows platform, I hacked my wii using my mac and that was just copping files to an sdcard, and that was easy, ok I will do the z-cpu and tell my chip set after i finish watching a documentary its about my favourite metal band, "Metallica!!!!", such a sad storey tho

right click on my computer then click properties. left hand pane click device manager.
find storage controllers and expand.
