Australia in anger over Modern Warfare terrorist possibilities

A lobbyist group in Australia is angry and is calling for the re-classification of Modern Warfare 2 as it has been revealed that the title will allow you to play as a terrorist in the game. The game currently has a rating of MA 15+.

If so i guess that means piracy is about to rise by a whole country, I'm glad to see this in a way (assuming there's any truth we all know they lie to get things done) i've been waiting for someone to push this margin it should lead to some interesting stories instead of this boring super soldier junk that's been pushed out of the western market for the last ten years.

I ain't no saint, but I must admit I was a little disturbed playing that part of the game to be honest. But then again we Americans aren't too crazy about terrorism especially in an airport.

This game was already hyped enough to be a sure success, especially profitable to IW since it costs more than normal games this gen (which are already overexpensive). Then they had to go and release idiotic editions for idiots everywhere.

Then as if that wasn't enough they seem to have gotten exceptionally gluttonous of their tactics with this game.

I mean COME ON INFINITY WARD. This game was going to be a success no matter what and you maxed out on the profits on it by increasing its cost.

Will you please let up as your hunger to milk this game is bordering on greed on a mortal sin scale.

This game will be loved by teens, overly heteros, skinhead army wannabes, thug gangsta brothas and losers everywhere. PLEASE DONT EXERT YOURSELF.

There are times when the adage that "any publicity is good publicity" does not apply. Im starting to think there is a good chance that MW2 will flop...even though it was initially one of the most anticipated games of the year. The higher price, shorter campaign, gimped pc play, offensive advertising, inane developer comments and increasing backlash is really starting to turn some off from buying it. For me is turned into at best a "buy it when its cheap" title, many of my friends who normally preorder haven't bothered, its going to be interesting to see what happens.

yea guys i played the leaked version on my 360 and there's a mission (although you can skip it) that is really kinda bad and messed up lol. i won't spoil ****, but its the worst cod mission yet. (moral wise)

and isn't it bad i replayed it like 5 times. lol.

It isn't spoiling anything. It's all over the game news even on maxconsole earlier. Basically the game allows you to play through a level as a "terrorist". The ethics of which go beyond just "oh this game allows me to play a terrorist".

Anyhoo, many who play this game many find, it aint all that much.

Unfortunately yes.

If a game needs to be classified any higher than MA 15+, then it is refused classification.

I work as a game classifier, and all i can say is i am ashamed to be part of a system that can't get its f@#king head in the game, and get with the times.

oh and yes MA15+ is the highest rating for 'games' in australia as someone asked before. but i think movies can go to R 18+
