i'm trying to upgarde my HDD to a 250GB, i already have the WD drive but i'm using a laptop to do the work on. i have taken out my HDD from my laptop and placed the WD drive inside the laptop. the thing is in the command line of dos you need to know the port number and i have no idea on how to find this. i have read many threads but these are all for pc's. is it the same for laptops? i just need someone with some knowledge of HDDHACKR to help me on my way...................sudeki300

the newest one will display a list of the ports and what drive is connected and you select it from the list

Choose to flash the 250GB hddss.bin bin you have, it will ask you if you want to create undo.bin, choose yes, then it will ask after that about creating partitions etc, of course, choose yes!

here is the one I used. here is how I did it
rename hddhackr.exe to hdd.exe
boot from usb stick with the hdd.exe and hddss.bin
run hdd.exe a list of ports came up
hit 0 then enter (there were about 5 options 0-4 i think)
asked for hddss.bin file entered HDDSS.bin
said something about not the right file told it to continue anyway
asked to create an undo file said yes entered UNDO.bin as name
asked if I wanted to create partitions 0/2/3 I said yes
HD was formatted then I used xplorer360 to transfer my content

flashed the HDD early this morning before i left for work. it said to turn the computer off for 10 seconds then turn it back on again and the flash should have taken place. but i was not sure how to get the "this should be ok in a 360"message up. now i know i should have typed "HDDHACKR -F" and that should bring the completed message up. i finish work in about 30 mins, so when i get homw i should get the job finished. thanks again for your help snake2....................sudeki300

Cheapest one I could find
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136387
this one has bigger cache and faster RPM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136279
I have used both of them and know they both work, however the second one I listed was making a clicking noise, don't think it was a problem with the HD because I never got an error while playing a game from the HD, maybe it was going into sleep mode and the 360 kept waking it up or something
