Okay so here's the story: My best friend is now my roommate. We live in a dorm in college. Not really that important. Anyway we share a 360 now, specifically my 360, so he copied his Gamertag on to a memory unit and some saves and now he signs in from that on my 360.

Anyway I recently upgraded my harddrive from a 20 gig to a 120 gig I got on eBay using Xplorer. Once I get it up and running, I figure I ought to download all of his arcade games since I have the extra space. I download them from his profile. Problem is when I go to play them under my profile they all show up as trial games.

Now I wouldn't consider this odd except for the fact that he is fully capable of playing MY arcade games. Even ones he's never bought or even played before. One's I've even bought before we shared an Xbox. So I figured I would be able to do the same for ones he bought that I put on my Xbox. Did I do something wrong maybe? Or am I just not thinking this through correctly?

I think when he signed in with his gamertag the console became regged to his tag.
I recently bought one and had to call ms to transfer the console to me cos it was regged on live to the previous owner.

simple the arcade games, tv shows, and game add-ons can be used by anyone on the FIRST 360 they are downloaded to regardless if you are sign in to that account or not, now if they are put onto a diff console say you bring your hdd over to a friends house or do what you did or say your 360 broke and you bought a new one only the account that downloaded the item/s can use them as full games or watch them they also have to be signed into xbox live to use it

that is why he can play yours but you cant play his

and that is because the "item" is not just linked to your gt or your console it is linked to both they did this so people couldn't pass around a account that has stuff downloaded to it and then download it onto their console and use it with out paying

ms offers a transfer tool to transfer the license from one 360 to another but it can only be done once every 12 months

if i had ten posts i would post the link for you
