Jak and Daxter on 5.00 M33-6?

Has anyone gotten the new Jak and Daxter game to play on 5.00 M33-6 firmware? It decrypts fine with Yoshihiro's v4 decrypter, but the game doesn't start. No error code either, it just hangs on a black screen. I've tried different iso drivers and no luck.All the other games i've tried work fine.

No I dont think so, Only confirmed working on GEN custom firmware.

The only version that's been tested is the PSN version and PSN games haven't worked on M33 since last week. The UMD version might work but no one has tried it yet....

From my experience I feel that the decrypter fails to decrypt the eboot file at the first place and hence it is not working that is my take on it since I am also using 5.0 M33-6. Interestingly what are the firmware requirements for Jak & Daxter? I am seeing 5.50 in UMDGen.

but the decrypted version works on 5.50gen, and the untouched backup works on both 5.03gen-b and 5.50gen-d/2

I was also at 500m33-6 and the game did not work for me....downgraded to 401m33-2 and everything works fine...:D

Strange. I finally made the switch to gen 5.5 d2. It works fine, but the loading is much slower. I tried the fatmsmod patch, and it didn't work. If someone has a link to the files you need to manually flash them, I would be very grateful.

jak and daxter (usa) is not working on psp date code 8c with 5.03 gen (full). It ends up into black screen.
What should I do so i could play it?

from a certain spanish forum, here is what it seems to be a m33 fix:

1. Patch and modify the EBOOT.BIN with game decrypter and then rebuild the iso with umdgen.

2. open the iso with a hex editor and search for all instances of 21 98 80 00 05 05 04 3C 10 00 84 34 and change 05 05 to 00 05. then save.

I could not test it, yet.

Just tested the above, and it seems to work on 5.00 m33, able to get to intro movie, start new game and save.

patch the eboot, put the eboot back to iso, keep lba the same, cso it, done.

I received the same results when I hex edit'd it. And when it tries to load it goes into "Load4Eva" mode. PLZ HELP ME!!!:(

ok i've tried it, and it does NOT work. the game won't load, and if i try to go back to the XMB, i get that "please wait" message and it doesn't go any further. had to hard-shutdown my PSP...

had to find a "ripkit" (and another fix) to get the EUR version working on 5.00m33-6. now i can play J&D in my native language (which is not included in the USA version). too bad the movies have been downsampled... at least the game is working. that's just a temporary solution, i'm still waiting for a FULL patched version. my search is almost over.

you don't have to downsample the videos for it to work, so surely you can figure out how to place the original videos back

Check the list in the other thread and you'll see what's working in m33-6...
Some games have additional checks, they have to be hexed to be playable.
To let the latest games work on M33-6 we need an update to one of the decrypters ;)
