There seems to be a lot of different reasons for getting banned with peeps saying they played offline etc, just wondering how many have noticed how the games people play are stored in your profile with the amount of points won, these must be getting back to ms cos i tried deleting mine and found i couldnt, so points scored stay in your console regardless which profile you are logged with, so maybe just maybe ms are using this as a banning tool cos if you cant delete game play then regardless of who played, console is banned, i think all profiles must be sent back to ms and its just a simple scan of info will tell them which games etc have been played, so your console is spying on you and reporting back with all your details regardless what fw or disc you use.
I may be wrong but this seems to be a more obvious answer than trying to work out disc,fw combinations which work and which dont.

Whenever you play any game either offline or online, when you connect to live it updates to the servers. Which then flag you if you are playing games that you shouldn't be playing yet.

That is my point precisely instead of poeple blaming firmware or discs or bad burns or patching tmaybe he most obvious thing people are missing and then complaining when they get a ban.

You can go offline, once offline you go and change the date and time to when the game should be out. The things you gain do NOT have a date stamp on them. Simply stay offline till it comes out and if what you say is true your safe. Once you reconnect to xbl it resets the time and date correctly but will not datestamp the things you unlocked.

Ummmm First off, it won't matter, your date stamps always attach the achievements, it won't matter if you play offline or not and then only connect when on release date. The date stamp will already upload to the servers showing you played the game before release.

I have the game so I should know.

So the obvious answer is that your box is logging you and even if you dont play a particular "early" game when you go live you can get banned cos the record is there on your console and has reported game play for a unreleased game wether it was offline or online.I think thats the reason for a lot of the bans and a feature that has been put onto the console for that very reason.

Explains why a lot of updated consoles are getting hit as well
Update to 161,
test flash works with unreleased game,
ban.

But when you play off-line doesn't your clock reset? Because often when i was playing offline, i'd save a game, and the date would be like the year 2005.

So i don't see how they could be using timestamps from when people are playing offline.

Doesnt matter because if you are playing a early game, game saves shouldnt be there anyway.Making me wonder how much info the nand can actually hold before it has to overwrite and make room for newer info.

I don't change my clock at all. I just got banned on friday. Lame. It wasn't for playing mw2 either, so not sure what the hell happened. I need to get a new box though. hopefully a jasper.

I'm sure that anyone that got banned either (a) played a pre-release game ON A PROFILE, (b) played a Wave4 game patched to a previous Wave, or (c) plays downloaded ISOs just because abgx360 says it's OK. My 4 consoles aren't banned, and I play nothing but backups. I played the ODST leak, but there was no way that I was logging in to a profile to play it.

Well then you sir are a dumbass, I have a lot of them open with no date stamp on them just a blank space. I went int and reset the date and clock once I took it off the net and played for awhile, everyone I unlocked has no stamp on the system or on live. So you must not be doing it correctly or unable to read or both.
