I'm about to buy a new Arcade Xbox (since my old one died on me) and I'm curious to know if all of them have LiteOn dvd drives now or if only some do.
If so, is there a way to extract the DVD key without the CK3 and Probe?
The last thing I want is another LiteOn dvd drive in my house! :P

There are three version I believe, the oldest requires the code, the next one requires the use of a key gen and the last and current is unhackable.
It depends on how old the stock is.

Man, I hope I get a benq drive.
But say alternatively, I don't get that drive. Is there a way to extract the dvdkey from a LiteOn drive without the CK and probe? (Most likely not, but man do I hope so!)

Not sure where you are but my mate just bought an elite from amazon and it has the jasper motherboard with the liteon 83850c drive on it. These are exactly like the benq. Just plug sata in and use jungleflasher. Real easy.
His was a June 09 box so i would say anything under June 09 and you should be ok to flash.

you can't know for sure, only try it.
but the best thing is not mod any liteons now, they are working on a new firmware that will make modded drives undetectable again.
all the boxes i did are banned now, so the firmware is detectable :(

there are 2 versions of 83850,they look identical, its just you have to try the read first to see if its a flashable drive,if it is not the flashable 83850 it will fail to extract the info and you cant do anything without a solution.the one that is flashable will sail through the process of the read assuming you do it correctly.
