According to an analyst, Call of Duty is set to become a $1 billion franchise and will be put in the same league as Titanic and Michael Jackson's Thriller.

Games property is in the same league as Titanic and Thriller, says analyst Colin Sebastian

Not yet sick of Modern Warfare 2 sales numbers? Good, Lazard Capital Markets analyst Colin Sebastian has more.

He reckons that the Call of Duty franchise will in 2009 break the $1bn worldwide sales revenue, putting it in the same league as other Activision Blizzard properties World of Warcraft and Guitar Hero - and other big entertainment properties like Michael Jackson's Thriller album and James Cameron's Titanic movie.

"The launch of Modern Warfare 2 will quickly claim a spot among the top 10 entertainment properties of all time — generating over $1 billion in retail sales worldwide over the first several months post release, in the same category with Titanic and Thriller, while generating higher margins and return on capital," he has said in his latest note to investors.</blockquote>

I wanted to buy this game on PS3, but had to select 360 version because of the Live community of this series.

I still havent havent played MW2, because i'm finishing Borderlands and Uncharted 2. ;)

$10-15 products reaching 1 billion is sales is way bigger than $60 dollar products reaching it...

All these companies complaining that games cost way to much to make, so they raised the price to $60... How can they complain if there game makes 1 billion in revenue? lol
