can't get into the wii store after softmodding! [Archive]

SO here's my problem. I used the bannerbomb hack to install the homebrew channel right around May 2009. All works fine, however, the one thing I can't do anymore is enter the wii store in order to buy games. Is something wrong with my wii, or does having the homebrew channel disable you from entering the online store? Is there a workaround?
