i recently got a psp go, however, i want it for homebrew (well, emulators..snes, etc...). i know there is no group that released it yet, however, i was wondering if anyone had any inside info as to what type of hack it is.
if ever released, will it be hack needing a game purchased from the psnstore? or will it most likely be a tiff or similar exploit. if its a game, id like to buy the game before its patched up :) but yah, i guess none of it matters since they said it wont be released. but it would be nice to know :)

The current PSPGO exploit uses a PSN game, that's why it will never be released. They also will not reveal what game it is. The moment it's released sony would remove the game from the store, which would effectively stop the exploit for most people dead in it's tracks.

Correct. There is no viable way to make game related exploits public at this moment in time, Sony would shut it down within hours... someone will need to find a VSH based exploit (A TIF vulnerability or something like that), or maybe some kind of audio/video file buffer overflow/underflow vulnerability... malformed browser information/injected packets(?)

makes sense. i guess i wasnt really thinking hard enough when i started the topic. so i guess all i can do is just leave my go unopened in the box, lol. still untouched, still a virgin. :) or maybe ill whip it out as a pretty cool looking mp3 player, (since converting video on my p4 is very time consuming). and ofcourse, as i remember with 1.50 and 1.51....DONT do the "security update" lol.

That and the fact that kernel exploits are scarce on 6.10 make it very unpractical for any proper group to make any releases so far.

was there more exploits on 5.70 or was 5.70 basically the same as 5.50?
i noticed when i turned on the go today (to make sure it works), i checked the firmware, and it says 5.70. i left it at that, and put it back in the box.
i guess it wouldn't really matter though because from the looks of it, the exploits are on 6.10, so it should be safe to upgrade up to there.
