Hello, first off you have my apologies if this question has been asked already and or if my question sounds somewhat how they say noobish.

In recent weeks I have been hearing all the fuss about M$ annual November Banning sweep, that apparently bans modified Xbox360 consoles, this has me worried as I have my brothers and my xbox360 FW flash with IXtream 1.6 (Lite-on) and 1.51 (Hitachi).

All my backups are always verified with ABX360, so can the XI 1.51/1.6 be detected by M$?

It seams to me like people are being banned regardless of whether they are playing a backup or original, the banning seams to be done on the basis of just having a hacked/modified Firmware flashed.

Please clarify if the XI 1.51/1.6 can be detected by M$ and if M$ is banning on the basis of just having a flashed drive?

Thank you in advance and apologies for my bad English.

They can detect ixtreme, don't go online, you have been warned.

assume the worst, stay offline and buy a second console if you must.

Even with the new ixtreme LT, it could be that your console was flagged a while ago.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

We dont KNOW they can detect firmware. The consensus is swinging that they MIGHT but we don't KNOW. I still maintain it it were as straightforward as f/w detection then every modded 360 would be banned. As it stands they are not all banned. This wave took out more than the previous waves so the method of detection is presumably better now (more conclusive). That is all we know with any degree of certainty.

I suspect they are reading the disc ID (Contains manufacturer and dye information), I am finding an increasing number of people that have been banned with non modded consoles but have used DVDR media for the watching of movies.

I've had my console modded since I bought it and played about 5 games (I never really download new releases, I barely play my 360). The "latest" game I've played is Spectral Force 3.... ;) And today I went to go buy Gyromancer and got a notice that I was banned, I guess I'll be buying it on Steam :P

To be honest the only game I've played on Live! was Uno so no big loss for me. But If I had to guess I would say they have a way to find out if the firmware has been modded because nothing really changed on my side.

Assuming the reports are real, but i've red more than once of consoles banned, without playing a single disk and playing only originals. C4EVA had a few consoles on test, if he is making a new firmware, it's not for the amusement.

Doesn’t M$ instruct users how to burn music and other media files to DVD to be played back on the 360? Also what happened to users that have DVD camcorders? They burn direct to dvd would they be banned?, don’t know it looks like a long shot, if Jungle Flasher can read firmware version etc (IX v1.6 and unique string) then perhaps M$ can do the same thing.

I think that the 360 that have had there drives spoofed are more likely to be detected as maybe the console batch number says what drive it was shipped out with or something.

All in all though being banned only stops you going on live and I think all your downloadable content are lost, all backups works right? Is that case it shouldn’t matter as I don’t have any DLC and have never been online.

If I do get banned then I’ll just get another 360.

^nope getting banned now means everything gets corrupted.

coupled with no more installing games to the hd either on that console.

anyways what danny said is bascially the sum of it, stay off live until LT comes out, an even then it probably won't save u from being banned.

nothing is for certain anymore, the new fw will even have less checks/stealth than ixtreme to keep it in more of an original state.

we'll see tho.

Remmber, it only gets corrupted (except maybe the profile) after you use it on the console.

I managed to recover all my saves by simply not running them and putting them onto a MC to my new HDD.

No, also a "fix" has been found for the corruption issue involving dumping, patching and flashing the NAND flash.
