I haven't found a single forum yet where he hasn't been trolling like a man possessed. Either that or he's employed by Sony to go around pissing off all the homebrew devs until they leave the scene. Although that can't be true because he's also on the official Sony forums trolling around and encouraging people to pirate lol.

It looks like it's gonna be D3. Yoshi seems to enjoy making the pirates froth at the mouth though so probably won't be released anytime soon.

I don't see why. Every advancement he's made has been basically so that people can pirate PSP games as opposed to play them legitimately.

To be fair, the game decrypter is very useful for those that want to remain on older cfw and still be able to play new bought games. I'm not saying that's a significant percentage of users compared to out and out pirates but it's still a useful tool to have.

Same page, broham. Releasing a 6.00 custom Firmware would at least reaffirm they're in this to make the homebrew scene a better place, and not just making it easier to steal games.

I read around internet that Team Gen, haven't the "know How" to create a new 6.XX CFW.

Would not otherwise explain the continuous patch.... We must say thank them, we would not have played the modern games. The truth is that currently only Dark Alex can do custom firmware for new.

I dunno...they did roll up their Firmware from 5.03 GEN to 5.50 GEN. I think that would take some knowledge of what they're doing between Firmware releases.

While we're on this subject, what kind of background knowledge is necessary to do PSP hacking? That is, what should you actually know before you attempt it? I wouldn't mind learning a bit of the "trade" but I don't really know where to get started.

I have my opinion on the fact.
IMHO Alex and a few elected already have a 6.00 cfw installed on their psps, its just not released around.
It wouldnt make sense if the God of CFW doesnt have his PSP updated, will it :)

Maybe Maxi and his team doesnt have the know how as you said, but its thanks to them if we can still rip our games and run them thru MS.
Dunno if Maxi reads this board, but i wouldnt give a **** about badmouths around, just remember that there are two types of men: Kids and Grown up.
Acting like "we dont release a **** because of bad things on me and our team" theorically puts you in the first category.

Keeping up the hard work for everyone wihout care about chilidish **** puts you in the second.

Lets hope that GEN keeps on doing their wonderful work. If they keep like this, with Yoshi presence in the team, we dont need a 6.00 firmware at all.

C/C++, MIPS Assembly, knowledge of the PSP hardware and firmware architecture, linux (Not totally necessary, but it's easier with Linux to be honest, and that's some honesty because i hate linux, and i still use it for a PSP development platform, admittedly i use it in WinVista as a Virtualbox image, but still...).

If you want to start getting into finding exploits and the like, that takes a very special breed... the socially inept... mind you.. i can't talk i got fired from my last job for attempting to break encryption - If anyone is interested in the encryption i lost my last job for, google: Microcosm, Hal Gashtan.

great idea! i dont believe that DA is the only who can do it.. maybe someone from around here can and they just dont know that.. why dont someone post a wiki or sticky on how these custom firmware works.. the previous exploits.. or maybe a how-to reverse engineer DA's custom firmware, maybe someone can make it compatible to a higher version.. i think someone else with great problem solving and troubleshooting skills might actually pick up.. they dont have to be in the elite circle.. it could be you or me or them in this thread.. just an idea..:D
