View Full Version : PSP Go exploit leaked, but Sony block it within an hour
A few days ago, Freeplay leaked a psp game exploit from the Prometheus svn which happened to run on the psp go before the actual leak occured. But it seems that Sony replied with great efficiency by removing the game from the playstation store and replacing it with a patched version less than an hour after the leak happened.
You can read the full details and controversy <a href="http://www.maxconsole.net/forums/showthread.php?t=144787" target="_blank">here</a>.

Clearly you don't. Maybe if it was Xboxportable.

well on one hand, it does highlight how efficient Sony has become in eliminating possible exploits on their system. Compared to other console (portable or not) SOny has shown they are definitely moost effective in combating piracy (except for PSP i guess but dats several years old)

you know why no one gives a **** about psp go?
not because were xbots (seriously, wtf is an xbot?) but because there are already millions of unused psps out there.
my psp hasnt booted an actual psp game in months... it only ever boots super mario world, and thats once in a blue mooon. and i highly doubt im the only one out there who has a WORTHLESS psp. you cant sell the thing for a loaf of bread. no one wants it.

No mater what the PSTribble Fanfags say, the above is still 100% correct for most of the so-called "Old-fags" (like myself) who have a Launch Day PSP-1004.
Except the last time I fired it up was to see what all the fuss was about GT:M.
BOY WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT THAT TURNED OUT TO BE!!!
Before that it wasn't like Months it was more like Year(s), about the only useful thing it can do is to playback Pr0nz and hell even that's to much trouble to deal with, now that I have a decent Laptop.
Speaking of that delightful topic, was there ever any progress made on (or for), the PSP-Tube Application? Sadly it never seemed to work right for me.
Perhaps I could find a better use for it if I could use it to access Redtube (and Co.).....
Which makes me come to wonder now if S0NY weren't longsighted enough to know that the only thing that the PSP would in fact ~ever be good at~, was playing back movies.
Those of you with a Launch Day PSP-1004 should know where I comming from, back in the day when UMD-Movies had a 10:1 ratio to actual Games.
Face it the PSP was and IS FAIL!

Yee I also have the psp 1004 and it jut collects dust, my analogue is beyond repair so in-game character moves in one direction. Only use is I watch movies when traveling. PSP was fun back in the OE days and early m33 but it was already on a decline

You sir are in denial.
My PSP has been sat collecting dust for the last year now so it's dead for me and alot of other people, But I just don't understand why, in all honesty the thing looks sleak and professional with pretty good visuals for a handheld.
So why did it fail? I'm not sure myself but is it really true that piracy HAS killed it? the UMD maybe? I'd love to use the thing for what it should be but for some reason i just can't

I managed to flog my psp for £120 about 2 months ago. I had it since the 1st OE firmware. At first i played loads of games then i just used it for video only. Once i got my iphone i never played on the PSP again. Couldnt believe i got £120 for it though!!

No I don't hate the PSP, or as I'd like to call it the P(oS)SP [Piece (of Sh!t) Station Portable], but this "Hate" has more to do with the way S0NY designed it,
(e.g. only One Analog Nub, AND THEN HAD THE AUDACITY T PLACE IT ON THE LEFT SIDE!!), and any actual support S0NY cared to give it.
Which by there own admission was next to none at all!
There PSTrible with Bluecheese was somehow way more important to 'em to actually start cracking that Playstation2 Whip on the Devs.
That as someone who was witnessing this in the old XBOX(1)* Days, I kinda had BIG EXPECTATIONS for this Platform. I think Five Minutes of Playing Ghost In the Shell:Stand Alone Complex killed those "expectations".
I never had the urge to either purchase, and or torrent any other FPS ever again.
As for S0NY's support in this Platform I suppose One could point to the Bi-Monthy Firmware Updates (To combat those nasty OE/M33 Firmwarez), but this is not what I had in mind when I was thinking of actual "Support".
But, I suppose all you PSPGo / Slim Peps have to yelp a little louder least you come to a similar conclusion. Only that the Go Owners will get stuffed a bit deeper then the rest of us, in so far as we Fat & Slim Owners have an actual UMD Library of Movies and ~some~ Games to go 'round. You all can enjoy your PSN DRM'ed Downloads at (or near), full price, without the option of reselling any of those "Games"....
Chew on those "Facts" along with all that Turkey and Stuffing, for a while.
And see if you still care to continue whelping about how great S0NY is.
*Unlike my PoS 360, this One still works (I think?), this One perhaps has seen more Dust lately then my PSP, which oddly by contrast still sees the light of day.

Well to tell ya the truth I'am sick of playing "Run'n'Gun ad nauseam ep14".
But barring however I feel about that the PSP simply is NOT the place for such Games FULL STOP.
Perhaps S0NY will wake up on some strange day and realize why this should be the case AND RECTIFY THIS!!
Since my 360 Died I've kinda given up on Video Games, but if I were in a better financial straights I'd probably get a Wii, as that looks to me to be the more "fun" System.
Something that both Microsoft and S0NY seem to both lack.
I hate to break it to you, but Video Games are NOT (unlike say the Internet), serious business, and those who'd say otherwise are to busy raking up there "Kill Counts".
3D Games are good for somethings, but I'd take a good 2D Sonic or Mario any day!

I think the psp go wont take off like many think it will, being that it depends on downloads from the net.
