Left4dead 2 update question

Hi, i have a liteon with 1.6 and haven't connected online since the bans started, because all my friends got the hammer.
The new system update on wave5 games contains any info on consoles flagged for ban? I didn't want to loose the install option, does anyone know the answer to this?

Doesnt matter what version of Fw you have or whatever Wave version title your using , as no doubt your already flagged ages ago. I myself and others plenty, I know are banned.

There's a big difference between being flagged and banned. I don't expect to be going online ever again on this console, but i do appreciate being able not to listen to the damned vacuum cleaner noisy drive.
I'm almost certain i'm flagged, my question is if can i get banned offline just for installing the new update.

unless i'm completely mistaken, offline disc updates can't ban your console.

you should be safe.

Thanks for the reply, i have already tested myself, but it didn't ask for the update, maybe i already did it last time i was online. It's not patched, everything checked on abgx.

Yeah. updates from the disc will not ban you, I didnt quite get what you where asking in the first post. If you dont plan on ever going online, then your safe

I have a similar problem.. i got assassins creed 2 and updated by mistake.. Now when the system reboots to continue the update it can’t find it because of the wave 4 protection...

is there a way to cancel the update? Or will I have to rent the game?
