Times must be tough for the PSP Go as it has been revealed that the price of the PSP Go has been slashed to 149 UK Pounds at HMV (making a 100 pounds saving). Although the offer is described as a 'very limited' one.

And yet it still isnt that competitive since the games are going to be allot cheaper on UMD.

You right, besides, Pspgo is the same story about Ps3. No mod=no sell.

So you're saying no one buys the PS3?

Even if it [The PSPGo], could be hacked I still wouldn't touch it not even for $10.00(USD).
I mean whats the point?

And before Xenogears comes back with a list of crappy games it still wouldn't be enough to draw me in.

As much as I despise Nintendo for eating up all the shelf space way back when the C=64 was king, I have to admit that nintendo have hit the mark with the DS and Wii. The DS may be inferior hardware **cough** graphically at least, to the PSP. But the DS has the better games.

Phonex Wright
Jake Hunter
Doctor Layton
Doctor Kawashima
Cooking Mama

Now this is my idea of gaming.

God or War by comparison might be fun if it had a second analog nub
But I'm kinda sick of those kinda games to begin with.

ive not really been in touch with the handeheld scene for a few years,Well my daughters got a DS but thats it but the question I wanna ask what is the difference from this PSP go to a regular PSP phat & slim is it just a new design feature where the screen flips up???see that could be the problem bringing out to many sku's confusing customers,I thought i was pretty much knowledgable on the console scene but since selling my PSP phat nearly 2 year ago not took much notice of the handheld scene & thought this machine is well expensive if its just a design feature

In short your tradeing the UMD Drive bay (for UMD [Universal Media Disc] Media), for extra on-board Flash ROM IIRC 16GB.

So for whatever passes for a PSP Library of Games / Movies would be of NO USE to a Go User, as you can only download your stuff at 2x the price from the PSN.

So you can not:
A) Sell / Trade your Games
B) You can not purchase any 2end hand Games (or trade for 'em)

The PSPGo is pretty damnd useless if you asked me.
And the normal Slim and Fat variants are only of slight relevance when you apply a Custom / Open Firmware, where you can play the older Gameboy/Advance Games on the PSP (w/the better Screen).

But, that just me.

IMHO stick with the DS, which unlike the PSP does have the worthwhile Games going for it.

right don't make lists, so you made one yourself. Maybe mind quiz is a game you'd like. it was made by Doctor Kawashima for the PSP, let me guess, you don't like it.

and it has bluetooth so you can use headsets or tether to a cell phone to go online for games or the browser.

The PSP Go was (and is now again) priced at £199.99, making it a saving of £51, not £100.

No I just never heard of it or ever saw it any any of the Local Shops 'round here that still carry the ~odd~ PSP Game.

Don't get me wrong, I'm against piracy. But we need admit that piracy is widespread. There are people who buy the console and only play games piratated.

This mean that Sony, loose money also from console sold.

Think about this. Ps3 had many many exclusive. Software house was sure on ps3, because there sin't piracy. Despite this, Software house have preferred to do "The exclusive" even pirated on consoles.

And perhaps that is the good thing about the playstation store. you don't need your local shop to stock it and I still believe that is why Sony really pushed digital distribution, when retailers cut back shelf space.

I think gamers suffer from something I call the "oprah's book club syndrome", me included. They play the games they hear about on the forums or from friends instead of trying to look for the genres or producer they like and hunting down the relevant games.

I hear a lot of people complaining that the Wii,DS and PSP have no good games when in fact they haven't really looked, because they are too preoccupied playing or looking forward to games that have had a lot of coverage.

In regards to the PSP I think the problem is more in the types of games available...yes all genres are covered, but most tend to not really be pick up and play type titles. With UMD's even casual games like lumines are more of a commitment due to load times. I love my PSP but do play my DS more simply because there are more titles that I can play for 5 minutes and put it back down, im a busy guy...I dont often get 30 minutes to play a level and find a save point, but I do get 5-10 minutes here and there.

That's another reason for the PSPGo or getting games on the Playstation store for your regular PSP, loading times are gone.
I always said that UMD was a bad idea both for loading times and battery but it seems now that it's gone people are angry. They don't seem to understand that they don't have to buy the go (since they sadly cancelled the transfer program in place of an exchange program). Got a phone call from somebody using skype on the PSPGo today which had me wondering whether tethering to a cellphone and using skype from anywhere would work, not that I'd need it with the N900 having skype already.

I love my DS to bits too the only pet peeve I have is that I do wish it had a decent wifi chipset. I had to buy another router and create a new subnet just for the DS. it's dated wireless b and WEP (a big security risk) is a PITA.
