Help flashing Lite On 83850c

Hi all,

Need a bit of help please.

I have a Lite on 83850c to flash and have connected it up using the ck3 connectivity kit and my via6421 card, as i would with my Benq drive or others that i have done.

My problem is Jungle flasher doesn't recognise the drive ( states 0 cd/dvd drives )
The drive will eject and retract when pressing eject on the connectivity kit.

I have portio32 installed and .net framework. ( Like i said i have flashed a few drives before so the setup is correct )

Does anyone have any ideas? The MFR date is 16/06/2009

First of all, if you are looking for detection of the drive by checking the status in the running log, then you are looking in the wrong place, jf reports on startup the status in the running log of connected 'windows' hardware, ie drives connected via the windows api.
Since you are using legacy port io drivers to interface the drive with your pc, you will need to select the correct port in the drive drop down list of jungleflasher, then you should find your drive no probs, as long as portio32 is up and running correctly.

The running log of JF states portio32 is running ok,
I have selected all of the ports from the drop down list, still no drive recognised.

Complete noob to irc but will jump on efnet and see what people say. ( Using the username yannos. )

Still not got anywhere with this, I have connected my benq 360 which I have flashed multiple times but JF still won't detect the drive.

Could it be something so simple as needing a new via card?
I have uninstalled that and portio32, then reinstalled the card, removed driver then installed portio32 again each time rebooting and still nothing.

might be a sata problem,the card come loose,stopped working,msata cable etc?

I have moved the card to a different slot and also tried a different sata cable, still having the same results.
Think I will just order a new card off fleabay for the sake of £8-£10. Will keep messing though while it arrives.

try with any onboard sata you might have on the pc.

Pc was made around the same times as noah's ark, however I have done quite a few 360s with this setup, but only just started with this problem.

Hi all,

Still no look, i got a new sata card today and still nothing. Trying with a benq and liteon 83850c.

There seems to me a conflict in software somewhere ( does anyone agree )

What do you think about a clean install ( would be vista x86 )
