Speaking to Reuters, EA's CEO has revealed a thought that the digital video game market will actually overtake traditional consoles and packaged goods by next year!

Not for me it won't. I only buy digital games that are under $20. And I hardly ever buy disc based games at $60. So they want me to buy a digital game at $60? Nope. I will stop gaming on a console and go back to pc gaming if this happens.

Umm actually if they linked to the articles these statements were based on...he was specifically talking about PC and mobile gaming not consoles.

I guess only EA will release their titles in Digital Download. For me I'm not going to buy full game in Digital Download. If I'm going to spend $60 on some thing I better have it in physical form, beside I enjoy reading my new game manual when I take a dump right after I got home from buying the damn game:D

Which is where I was going to say digital distribution will over take retail if it hasn't already. Mobile gaming is 100% digital distribution already and PC has many good systems in place to provide content.
