Woods is the strongest golf player in the world. Private life has nothing to do with the work.

That's where you are wrong. His private life has everything to do with it as he is a role model for many kids and adults. He has just confirmed one thing...he is human (no special enhancements for his greatness) and...he makes mistakes.
Not sure if it will be enough for a greedy company like EA to outright drop Tiger from their game roster. Only time will tell on that one. But, it would be interesting to see if this news is swept under the carpet here shortly so things can get back to as close to the norm as possible. The public forgets things like this rather quickly and may still keep TW games going strong as a result.

It depends on what they have done. No one would use gary glitter for an advert, because of what he did in his private life.

If it was infidelity... IE: he had some cheap little tart for thrills when he wasn't getting any at home...
w00pdy doo... things happen, people get caught.. blah blah blah, he's human.. whatever.

Tiger is most recognized athlete in the world, even EA is not dumb enough to drop him from the game. Somehow, Vijay Singh's PGA Tour 11 doesn't have the same marketability. So he was unfaithful to his wife, that has nothing to do with his drawing power. Sure some parents may not buy little Johnny PGA Tour 11 because he is on the cover but millions still will and people will still tune in to watch him play, and he will still make money hand over fist. I am going to predict the future here and say he goes on Oprah, confesses, cries, and then all is forgiven and he can go back to being the golden boy.

I can see other personal sponsors dropping him over this but who would EA turn too for a golf game mascot as golf really only has Tiger that stands out.

The problem is not his athletic ability, its the public repulsion at his actions, as a husband and father he has not only let his family down but many of his fans as well. His "marketability" will likely suffer. Look at Mike Tyson, when the trouble began he was the greatest boxer in the world, or Michael Vick, Marion Jones, etc. Just a short while ago, A-Rod for example took a huge hit when his affairs were aired in public, he lost endorsements as well as reputation. I do think your right he will rebound likely with a story about addiction to pain killers after his surgery last year followed by lack of judgement that will be blamed on the drug addiction. Eventually the public will disregard his indiscretions and talk about his "comeback", but its going to take a while. I dont think he will be the "golden boy" ever again though, his reputation was so squeaky clean that when he said he wanted privacy most of the press just gave it to him, now that the public knows what he did with his "privacy" he will likely never be allowed to fly so far under the radar anymore.
As for EA i would not be surprised to see their golf title go back to just PGA Golf again simply to avoid scrutiny.

People are way too anal if you ask me. Ok so he made a mistake, big freaking deal; how many of us do the same thing, or maybe even worst? "The standards you use for others will be applied to you"
I really dislike how society make these guys out to be little heaven sent angels, they are men just like you or me; people need to stop treating them like they are anything but that, and they also need to be responsible for the direction their life has taken, and stop blaming a lack or role models for their failures.
If anything, the only role models a kid needs should be his parents, and not some stranger inside of a box.

He's a sporto. He's suppose to do this stuff. I keep wondering why everyone is surprised. Between roids scandals, rapes and adultery, it's a wonder anyone cares about what these morons do at all. They have more money than anyone, so that pretty much gives them license to do whatever they want. I guess everyone wants to watch the train-wreck.

Actually at current count its 11 mistakes, 9 of them confirmed or having proof...

I agree about the role model part...but frankly thats what putting your picture on the cover of a game or your name on a product is supposed to represent. Kids even with good real role models in their life still look up to athletes and celebrities, IMHO if a public figure wants to put themselves out on display like that they should at least try to live up to the example. Tiger wanted his privacy (for obvious reasons it seems now) but he sure wasn't against plastering his name and signature on everything from Nike, Buick and Gatorade to video games.
When it was a single person I figured well crap what a shame...when it seems there is someone else coming out of the woodwork everyday for the past couple weeks, many with pictures, cell phone logs or witnesses its starting to look like Tiger was just an uncontrollable manwhore. Indiscretions tend to be forgiven and forgotten over time but this passes that by a mile or two and shows a complete lack of disregard for his wife or children. As I said earlier...he will play the "I'm addicted to painkillers" or "sex addiction" as a reason for "poor judgement" and will make the talk show circuits in an attempt to spin himself as the victim...but I think his reputation has taken enough of a hit that his usual asshole (ever watch him when he misses a shot, or his "interaction" with fans") behavior on the green which was always dismissed as "extreme focus" or "self-disappointment", will be looked at in a new light in the future and will place him on the same list as folks like Roger Clemens, Chad Johnson, Milton Bradley, Terrel Owns and Ron Artest.

I understand the point you're trying to make grape, but I just think people are blowing this way out of proportion... I just don't really care much for the personal life of any of these individuals. People are people, no matter how rich, smart, or talented they are and they will f*ck up. I guess my whole thing is I see this as a man cheating on his wife, not as Tiger Woods cheats on his wife.
You're right that he signed up for this, and that he should have tried to hold up his end of the bargain better, but I still don't think it's our place to judge him.

Yea I understand that...I just know that when I see a picture of him and his wife and kid on the cover of people my first thought isn't going to be "best golfer ever" it will be "what a tool". I guess it is rather judgmental but I have a feeling this one is going to hang over his head for a long long time.

I would agree, but then I think about a game called Mike Tyson's Punch Out.
Nearly the same deal just replace **** with infidelity and you have almost the same deal.
At this point in time I would say that it depends on how much EA values its image (that sounded funny just saying it.. lol but its true non the less)
I know Nintendo puts a huge value on its image (too much if you ask me)
So my guess is the odds are slightly in favor of them dumping him depending on where the tabloids and media take it.

Funnily enough all my friends of color would either not touch this topic and pretend it didnt exist when discussed at the pub and work, or just say "hes a rich player, he can do whatever he wants".
Same as with kanye. Either it never happened, or if it did, then it was ok cause a "brotha" can do whatever.

So "people of color" is a politically incorrect term now? Don't jump to conclusions....as some things are not what they "seam".;)

Gary was a has-been well before he got caught screwing kiddies. Even when he was in his prime nobody was paying him to be in ads.
