How to get backup GC Games to work?

Hi all,

I've tried to get GC backups to work on my softmodded Wii but no matter what I try I just can't seem to get them to work.

Does anyone have this working properly? And if so what are u using?

1) Is your wii one of the newer ones which cant read recorded discs?
2) Are you using multi-GC to get more than one game on a disc?

If any of these two options apply then this will be a problem although the latter is more easily solved (just burn the single game onto a disc, the multi game gave me issues).

I'm not doing #2 and my Wii is an older version that I hunted for so I could make sure it could be softmodded.

Have you made sure you softmodded properly with the softmod for GC backups?

Im pretty sure I did, but just for info sake where can I find the best, most foolproof way?

did you installed the wiigator or waninkoko's mios on your wii?

I heard elsewhere on this forum that newer ones arent capable of reading recordable discs (at least not as easily as older ones).
