27 year old jailed for ten years after having sex with teen via Xbox LIVE

A 27 year old man has been sentenced to over ten years in prison after developing a relationship with a 15 year old girl through Xbox LIVE. After the cyber meeting, them man drove for 30 hours to meet the girl and have sex with her.

<blockquote>Federal prosecutors Friday said 27-year-old Edward Stout of Richmond Heights, Mo. will also be under lifetime surpervision and will have to register as a sex offender upon his release. Stout pleaded guilty in September to having an illicit relationship with the Sanger, Calif. teen.

Prosecutors say Stout and the girl developed a relationship in April, 2008 and talked while playing video games on Xbox LIVE.

They say in late January 2009 Stout drove almost nonstop for 30 hours from Missouri to Sanger, where he engaged in sexual activity with the girl.

I think the point is that parents are not educated enough and are not educating their kids properly while also not using parental controls at all during their absence. Nobody can be expected to police a network of one on one communications which is why a lot of web based chat rooms were closed.

In future consoles need to have parental controls enabled by default and a booklet included just for the parents explaining what they've done and why.

So? As someone else mentioned there are numerous online ways to accomplish the same thing. It's not relevant to the headline. He wasn't jailed after having sex with her via Xbox LIVE but rather for the physical act. It's not rocket science.

Well I was put under pressure by one of these overdeveloped 14 year olds when I was 24, but she's 20 now, I'm 30, so right now it's a whole different ball game.

In all honesty a 15 year old girl knows full well what she's doing, but the law is the law, and there's way too many women out there to get in serious trouble over a minor... there's no piece of punany that's worth it.
