wii drive help

hi all, my wii is not reading discs at all, on inserting a disc the drive does not spin up. but if i leave the disc in and power on the wii, it spins up ok. once ejected and reinserted, it does not again unless left in and powered on/off.

the eject is working fine and its taking discs fine.

is there a fix for this or is it a replacement drive unit ?
