Last night I dumped a GC disc using waninkoko's wii dvd dumper 1.2 and it took a little over an hour.

USB loaders can rip a 3.6GB game in about 15 minutes but when I tried to dump the GC disc with that got the "Not a Wii disc" error.

Is there a faster method to dump GC games or is wii dvd dumper the only option?

Thats the fastest you'll probably get, I use the network method which is both unreliable (had to dump a disc twice) and takes two hours a disc.

I made the same post on GBATemp and they said to try Super dump so I will give that a try when I get home tonight

I just tried 1.3 of this app, yet it goes to a black screen when I try and boot it from the hbc. I heard that it runs better on cios rev 13 due to more stable dumping code but I'm on rev 16 at the moment and dont want to be switching back and forth just for this.

Post your results and Cios version if you get the chance.

I read a little more about the app and decided to forget it lots of people get stuck at 99% and someone said it mangles illegal tickets and if that's true then my custom channels for emus and such might not work, so I will just stick with Waninkoko's DVD Dumper

yeah, better safe than sorry, might just do the same. Just watch a movie or make a brew whilst using dvd dumper:D
