Imagine the scene, you are a professional gamer and gaming is your life. You are just seconds away from a victory in a tournament, however the host Xbox 360 just suddently CRASHES on you and renders your near certain victory void. And that's exactly what happened to one unlucky pro gamer.

Major League Gaming held its Halo 3 National Championship in Orlando, Florida this weekend. Seeded first, many believed that the team Triggers Down would win the championship for the third year in a row, but they never got the chance. They would have at least advanced past the semi-finals had an Xbox 360 not malfunctioned in the closing seconds of a match in which Triggers Down was about to defeat Classic. Classic lost to Believe The Hype in the finals.

Playing Halo CTF, Triggers Down had all 4 team members of Classic dead, and only had to turn in the flag in order to win the match and proceed ot the next bracket. But just as the player Heinz was about to turn it in, the hosting Xbox froze up. According to MLG rules, when there is a hardware failure of any kind, the entire round is eligible for a replay. In the do-over, Classic beat Triggers Down by a score of 5-2 and advanced.

im kind of lost as to the reason for this?

they're hosting competition games on xbox live? all the people in the same room, playing only each other in the same room, and yet they choose to transfer traffic to a remote server and back again?

i guess system link was too complex for them? i dono what the point of this is.

The point of this is that the unit crashed during a very important game...

And again, your hate towards the 360 shows in the news.

Yeah, we know 360's break. So do others.

Maybe they'd forgott to enable the hardware feature "Do not break in an important tournament, only before or after".

Anyway, if they were that good, maybe they shouldnt have lost the replay game by 5-2.

Grow up.

Yes yes we all know X360 breaks down with 100% success rate by now. It's not news anymore.

Hate because they reported a news bit? a damn funny one at that. All consoles have seen their share of bad news, and will continue to have more bad things reported about them, but if it makes you feel any better I heard sony payed someone for this to happen LOL!

This isn't about the gamer it's about the 360 breaking, so his/ers gaming prowess have little to do with anything.

damn that sucks, but still they should also blame themselves for not being able to beat the other team in the do-over.

but yeah the dumb 360 is also at fault.
