A rather cool and innovative video game has been developed by a Canadian firm. But this isn't for consoles, rather it is for scoreboards with the aim to encourage crowd interaction. For example, in one game, a virtual goalie is projected on the scoreboard and encourages the crowd to jump left or right in order to save virtual pucks!
The company is now in talks to bring their technology to the NBA as well!
<blockquote>
Bent 360: MediaLab Inc., a downtown video game and technology developer, has sold both the 67’s and the Cavaliers a camera system and video games capable of capturing the attention of thousands of fans and allowing all of them to play along simultaneously.
The technology, called CrowdWave, uses cameras to monitor the movements of fans. The cameras then use those movements to control a video game projected on the scoreboard.
The system has been installed at the Urbandale Centre, home of the 67s, since October.
