Judging by your avatar, number of posts and style of writing I am guessing your purely advertising the product rather than enquiring or praising.

The fact remains though that most people will just use the free/cheaper alternatives these days such as the usb loader or softloaders or buy a cheaper modchip, espcially with the £69.99 price tag (google currency conversion) compared to cheaper alternatives for solderless modchips at around £25

The only real reason to buy this product seems to be the GC backups for new drives which cant read burnt copies or usb loading.

Also system menu 4.2 blocks region free modchips I believe by checking the data files itself rather than the old method, so whether its region free or not I cannot say.

Apart from that, I cant say anything else about the product, the product may still do the job.

it's more a case of me being new to the wii,
after seeing what the wode can do and the fact the you dont need to burn disc's,you just put them on to a hard drive, the kids can use it very easy, and there's no chance of bricking the wii,for me it seemed the best way.
i do see your point that it cost more, and that will put people off,but i found it easy to fit and use, and that it cant be turned off with any updates is a good thing for me.

the avatar is there so people can see it,thats all.
i have nothing to do with the people that make it,i just like it,
the reason i asked the question is to see what other people think about it,
because i need to chip or soft mod our other wii, if this can be done for less money but to work in the same way it would be good to know, but im worried about bricking the wii,i have backed up 23 games that we own,and there all pal region so what diffrence does it make that it wont play any region if your on 4.2e firmwear as i am,
will other methods do that ,with out taking the chance of a brick?
thanks ste.

Actually, the chances of bricking the wii is quite slim as long as you take the right precautions such as with bootmii or preloader. You say that YOU dont use other region games, many others do and in order to have region free on 4.2+ you need...a softmod, assuming that this is affected by the new region protection.

Although you decrease your chances of bricking....you increase your chances of frying something.

This product does have its upsides, I was merely pointing out the other alternatives.

Truth be told, I do like the idea of usb loading GC games, but the price puts me off since I can just use RWs (but then new wiis cant).

However, your devotion to this product is likely to bring up claims which I have stated.

P.S. It is normally considered bad to have ALL CAPS FOR AN ENTIRE POST WHEN ITS UNJUSTIFIED.

point taken on the CAPS, sorry.

the reason i wanted one is because my kids are small and they dont need to be putting disks in and out, i found one morning that they had got all of my xbox 360 games out to play with and about 15 games went into the bin,

All I was merely pointing out was that there are many cheaper alternatives to run backups. That was all.

The only real USP I see are Gamecube backups and maybe easier multi-dols.

I'll leave it at that.

I have one, it's really cool, you can have 2 x 1T drives hooked up to it at the same time with a USB hub. Also is not affected by system updates. It can bios update itself with a simple SD card. Easy menu system to load stuff. Also, it can backup games to a USB drive really easily.

Just create ISO's & put on a HD or flashdrive & put in the side of your Wode, it detects it automatically.

Also runs games from disks.

Still a little shaky as it's a little bigger than a Wii. Try their website for news.

Except region free on 4.2+ will be affected of course because it now gets the region from the dol and not the disc.

Personally, I am happy with the free versions, the only reason why I would ever consider getting something like this is because it saves me having to burn gamecube backups.
