Great stuff from Xorloser here. He's fully explained how to conduct the PS3 hardware exploit WITH images. Moreover, he teases that in his next post he will "tie it all together along with some software I have written to dump your own hypervisor and more."

sounded cool till i started seeing how much you have to spend on bits and bats to carry it out.looks to me like you need to expect to pay £100 perhaps more on the things.

i got older fat ps3 with 60gb hdd and all the card reader ports etc.

Good luck bricking your PS3's guys who have no patience. There will be somethign easier later if this leads to anything. Going hrough all this trouble just to say you can play homebrew that doesnt exsist is fucking retarded

Chances are that it will lead to an exploit that the masses will have easy access too.
This is just the beginning of pulling apart this machine.

Well it sounds very interesting, but I'm not at a level where I can do anything at all with this hack, and I suspect so are many others. This is still something that is only useful to hackers if you ask me, so all you little boys out there should steer clear of this info. There's few things as dangerous as having access to information you quite don't understand.

No doubt it's a step forward. I'm just saying that all those asking for isos, and cfw should stay away from this. Well, not that I care about the status of most people's ps3s, but those that care about it, unless they know what they are doing, should leave this be for now. This is not a user level hack at the moment.

it should, I dont believe its been tested yet, but there is no reason for it to not.since its using a hardware hack its likely to take a while for sony to figure out how to stop it if they can

Even if you're going to wait to do this, which you should, one thing EVERY fat PS3 owner (LOL!) should do is disallow any and all updates, even if that means that you can't play some upcoming games. The next update (3.20 IIRC) is going to remove the "Install Other OS" capability, which will make this hack useless, since a Linux installation is the software side of it.
