Hi,
I've got one of the first PAL Wii consoles, chipped with Wiikey, and Wiikey 1.9s. Firmware version 4.2E

I also have the homebrew channel set up using the twighlight hack a few years ago.

I have no troubles running game DVD's, except Smash Bros which the disk always crashing the wii saying an error has occured, eject disk and restart the wii.

I used to be able to install Wads via the Wad installer v2.1 but now I seem to have issues. Trying to install a few I get Ret -2011 error. I have checked the region of the .wad files and this shouldnt be an issue. I then looked up about custom IOS etc but this really confuses me.

Can anyone explain about the IOS and what I should do to get /
.wad files working. I remember having this kind of issue installed Driift.wad but I forgot how I fixed that problem. Maybe thats whats causing the issues now?

I also tried the GUI Manager but that tells me i am missing IOS2049 I beleive =(
I tried to do the Truncha restorer bug but it got most the way through and told me an error, possible out of date downgrader.

Any help would be appreciated as I have searched several forums, all explaining slightly different solutions. I dont have any issues running an games, only homebrew channel stuff,

Thanks,

Install Cios 249 rev14.

Also, I suggest switching to USB loader for SSBB since the reason for the crash is probably a dodgy laser which affects all early Wiis (Mine included but only FMVs were dodgy).

Probably dodgy media or backup then.

Also, I recommend installing IOS 222/223 if you use usb loader (better compatibility).

Probably dodgy media or backup then. Did you remember to put a layerbreak on when burning?

Also, I recommend installing IOS 222/223 if you use usb loader (better compatibility).
