I want to swap out a 60GB drive I have with a 500GB...the process definitely looks easy enough to swap out the HD's to a 120GB or 250GB, but how will the process differ for a 500GB? Obviously there's no official image for a 500GB, so do I just use the 250GB image and then do something else to the drive? Any help would be appreciated...

Also, like all the guides say I should stick to getting a Western Digital, correct? Is there a good model I should look for? Was looking at a WD5000BEVT...

If your going to use it on XBR or Freeboot, then you just need to swap the case over to the 500gig harddrive then format it on the 360. i believe you can use any brand of drive too.

Using jtag you don't need an image. You just format the 500gb drive in the Jtagged XBOX and you're good to go.

Thanks guys...I appreciate the responses. I guess I overlooked that...

I also found this thread that explains there's a few more steps if you want to use it for xbox1 titles:
