I absolutely love this game and I've played it to death on psONE. However, the psONE eboot is slow and has annoying black borders on PSP. I've not tried the SNES one and I'm currently trying out the GBA port, FF VI Advance. It's really good so far (better translation, more Espers, more bits to do) but it's very laggy on GBA emu.
I'm using gpSP (one of kai's revisions, the latest I think) and I can tell you my settings -
Frameskip Type - automatic
Frameskip Value - 5
Frameskip Variation - uniform
Audio Buffer - 2048 bytes
Clock Speed - 333 MHZ
These settings allow the game to work, but the gameplay lags out of time with the music and the controls feels more sluggish than they should be. Message boxes and characters seem to speed up and slow down, almost flickering sometimes. I've ignored them for about 15 hours now (in the second world) but it's really bugging me now.
Maybe I should just go for the stretched PSone eboot, which is more stable?
