I recently bought a xbox 360 halo3 edition from the internet, hooked it up to my 1080p computer monitor via HDMI to DVI. The resulotion setting is maxed out at 1920x1080 but when I play CoD4 the graphics quality look like crap compared to my PC. Both my PC and xbox is outputting 1920x1080 but why does it look so different?
my PC specs:
mobo: ASUS P5QPL-AM
ram: 2x2GB Kingston DDR2 800
video card: ASUS ENGTS250
CPU: Core 2 Quad q8200
monitor: LG Flatron W2243T
PSU: Antec 500W

The xbox 360 games you are talking about dont actually play in1080p. Sure the dash is set at 1080p but very few games actually run at this resolution due to the graphical capabilities of the 360.
A PC game running at 1080p is actually displaying at this.
Halo isnt even 720p from memory and COD is likely to be 720p.
Monitors also dont have all the post processing prowess as a HDTV.
Hope this makes sense.

Its not the games....I had the same problem. I went from HDMI to DVI Now... a pc monitor is made to adjust the resolution by the pc its self. Threw your desktop properties. You can adjust the resolution there. Xbox has no way of adjusting your screen's resolution like your pc can. My screen was registering in 640x480 with no way to adjust. Not only that i had no sound because most lcd screens wich is the way mine is do not have speakers. I thought id plug the regular video cord in and use the av cables for sound on the xbox and HDMI for video....WRONG "that went over like a fart in church" The regular av cords overide the HDMI. So what ive been brought to do is just buy a 1080p Tv and use for your pc and xbox. This way you have sound and can hook to your internet. Duel monitors FTW use the lcd for your Desktop expansion and use your New tv for entertainment.
