View Full Version : Hiya, I need help changing name of MHFU character.

Before I start cluttering everyones MHFU posts with cries for help I thought I would try this first:

I have a MHFU character whose name I wish to change from "Loser" to "Jade". :o I tried to change it myself but the game seems to reset my character everytime I try to change the name of my "Loser" character. :o

If anyone could help me change the name of my MHFU character from "Loser" to "Jade" I would be very happy. I have attached my MHFU saved game file to this post.... hopefully. lol

Normally the procedure is to load it up on the PSP with CWCheat enabled, then edit the character name in memory and save the game...

I dont have the CWCheat thingy on my psp. That's why I'm asking for help. lol :o But thank you for the effort.



Normally the procedure is to load it up on the PSP with CWCheat enabled, then edit the character name in memory and save the game...

It had been so easily way to save the game. You have to check the profile and gone in the edit option and change the character name which you want. I have also changed character name as well.

Hate to break it to you, but if you're unwilling to put the work in yourself to get something you want done, why expect other people to do it for you?

I have no problem with doing the work myself.:o However I am trying to limit my "Messing" with all of my tech as I have several projects on the go and did not want to undertake another one just for a simple name change.

Also I love my psp and would get totally emotional if I broke it. :cool:;) lol

Does anyone know if it is possible for me to alter the name of my character via PC if the only copy of the game I have is for PSP?

The savegames are encrypted, the only way to alter it on the PC would be to use save game deemer to save an unencrypted copy of the save game, transfer that to your PC do the edit, then put it back on the PSP deemer would then load the unencrypted version.

Also, CWCheat and Save game deemer do not touch the flash0, so you cannot break your PSP, besides even if you (somehow) did, you could repair it with DC8.

What is a PSP "deemer"?
Whats the difference between a decrypted savegame vs an encrypted one; will it affect any of the games multiplayer functions?
What do I use to change the game data once its decrypted?
Is there anyway to re-encrypt the game once the changes have been made?
